Clarke cringed at the name but responded anyway. “I’m here already, just waiting to be checked in,” she said.
“Okay, then I should tell you,”
“Tell me what?” Clarke said.
“Well, I booked you one of the premium massages, it includes…”
Clarke’s attention was immediately diverted to the woman behind the reception who called out her name.
“Okay I gotta go, I’ll talk to you after okay. Thanks for this!”

Clarke became Skykru’s ambassador 8 months ago, when they’d joined the coalition. Since then, she’s been learning the ropes, proving herself to the other ambassadors … and apologizing for her people’s occasional acts of petty foolishness. But when she wasn’t doing those things, Clarke was crushing hard on the commander … and deeply regretting the opportunity she’d passed up months ago to be with Lexa - the hottest person she had ever seen, probably the hottest person in their entire post-apocalyptic world - because their timing had been off by a few weeks. If only she hadn’t held a knife to Lexa’s throat that one time. Or spit in Lexa’s face that other time. Or screamed at Lexa that she was a bitch, and then heavily implied that she was a bunch of times after that …
God … if only Clarke had a time machine …
And now … well, Clarke wasn’t sure how long was an appropriate amount of time to wait between holding a knife to someone’s throat and asking that person out. But an old Grounder ritual might just give her an opportunity to make up for lost time …

Summary
Clarke is just tired of Finn's incessant approaches. They are done, but it seems that message is not clear for the young man. Clarke wants nothing to do with him anymore, so the best solution? Tell him she's seeing someone new. But who? Clarke doesn't have anyone who can pretend to be her new love interest that could be believable and she knows that she can't keep lying once the charity gala comes.
That is until she meets the new lawyer her father hired. Desperate times call for desperate needs, right?
Clarke will make the ultimate proposal to someone she doesn't know, but who might be just what she needs to solve her little problem. Except their lies are not just for a gala anymore. Can they keep the charade or Clarke and Lexa are going to end up tangled in their own web of lies?
Who says that they can't pretend for a little bit longer?
