Summary
The Mercenary King had won many battles, lost a few, and ran away from some more. He had hoped to keep doing it for a long while. But never had he felt like he'd left half his soul back in the battlefield.
For him and his people to be prey for battue... It was hilarious, really.
The snow had already made Glenn's hands so cold they would stay that way. The alcohol burned Bud's throat, that would stay too.
The war wasn't over, and neither was he (he was done with many bottles though).
But gods knew he saw the mountains every time he closed his eyes, heard the slowing breathing against his shoulder drowning out every other sound."That goddamn Mage!" Bud slammed the tankard against the bar counter. Just wait until he gets his hands around Glenn's neck.
If he could stop crying first, that is. -
