"You rigged the fridge," Soap wheezed, his voice cracking. "You booby-trapped the fucking fridge, Simon."

"The refrigeration unit is a critical vulnerability," Ghost replied calmly. He set the teacup down. "It holds our perishable rations. If an enemy infiltrates the perimeter, it is the optimal vector for a biological attack. Poisoning the food supply is page one of the siege manual."

"I wanted cheese!" Soap yelled, finally finding his voice. "I live here! I sleep three doors down! I wasn't trying to poison the unit, I was trying to eat a Babybel!"

    Or

Simon "Ghost" Riley is the worst roomate.

    Summary

Price retires from the military and tries to adjust to regular civilian life. Then social workers knocking at his door tell him he has a daughter. Max has had a rough couple years. After being sent to an abusive teen therapy camp, leading a revolt, then spending some time on the run, juvie feels like just another prison. She's considered a rough around the edges youth, too smart for her own good. With a history of trouble, she's sure her father will run the other way.

Title is a work in progress, open to any suggestions!
I can't believe I have to clarify this but: The main character is sixteen, younger in flashbacks, there will be NO romance plot with any task force members or any older adults/young adults. There might be romance plots with future teenage characters of similar age.
I haven't written in a long time, so might not be my best work, open to any constructive criticism.
Is this fic a cry for help? Probably. Am I sprinkling a tiny bit of my own trauma into this? Definitely. Ignore my issues (:
I do not own Call Of Duty or their characters, I'm just borrowing them for awhile.
My original characters/places are precious to me so no stealing them please.
    I am anti-AI.

He hated that the honesty actually hurt more than the jab. High and fucking mighty aren’t we? Nom did not like the tone his thoughts took, the way he could feel himself slipping already. He needed to get a fucking grip, he’s the one who started it anyways!

“How’ve you been? I know we haven’t seen each other much.” Scott looked at him carefully, but not critically. It felt dissonant with everything else.

    Who’s fault is that?

“Fine. I suppose like you, not bad but not great. Just making it work for the moment.”

Scott’s eyes went flinty for a moment before flickering with pain.

    Summary

The house was far from perfect, but it had potential - here they could live in peace and build up a life together, try to become civilians again and cope with all of their wounds. .
When they were told that there had been a murder in the house, it didn’t scare them away - even if the former owner had apparently been killed by a weird cult.

    So they bought it.

Which annoyed the fuck out of you, said “former” owner. You didn’t want people, hot or not, moving into your home.
