Moomintroll just wants to spend time with Snufkin and learn more about him.
It seems even after having known each other for the time they have, some might even call them the best of friends. Moomin still finds Snufkin mysterious and distant. All he wants is to know more about Snufkin, feel closer, and not feel like Snufkin will disappear between his fingers and further away from Moomin's already grasping hands.
For better or worse, Moomin gets his wants fulfilled.

As he stared down into the lumpy grey goop that was his evening rations, he contemplated whether it was really worth it.
They’d come a very long way just for Grace to give up and die at the last hurdle, both physically and emotionally. The Tau Ceti system was a long, long way away now, and Grace had faced not one but two highly emotional suicide missions. Three, if you counted the time before he was given a military grade roofie and hucked into space without his memories.
Rocky and Grace make it back to Erid! Huzzah!

Summary
After nearly killing himself (and by doing so nearly dooming not just one but two entire planets), and then Rocky nearly killing himself, and then Ryland nearly killing Rocky the trip back to find Rocky's ship is... rough. The Blip-A, while not extremely far, is being a jerk to get to, and maneuvering these stupid beetles is going to give Ryland an aneurysm. Not a literal one. Earth saying. It is going to give him some crazy stress nightmares though.
