“You know,” Olruggio says, roughly. He doesn’t move to take Qifrey’s hand again. “You know. You can’t not know, Qifrey.”
Qifrey just looks at him. “I do.”
The rain continues falling.
(And so Olruggio forgets. And he inevitably figures it out again, because of course he does; and he inevitably chooses to forget again, and again, and again, because his heart is always the same. The story is always the same. Like a tale from under a silverwood tree, like a myth from the days of old, not so much tied by the constraints of the narrative so much as being narrative itself. Antigone must bury her brother. Iphigenia must be put to death. At a thousand turns, in a thousand ways, Orpheus must turn, and he must look, again, and again.
And Olruggio forgets.)
There is an old story about a witch and a silverwood tree.

Olruggio didn’t think Qifrey liked physical touch at all, but now that the curse is gone, the white-haired man immediately decides that Olruggio’s personal space is his personal property and he will be burrowing into Olruggio's ribcage, thank you very much.

Summary
Something, equal parts wariness and weariness, stirs in Olruggio’s eyes whenever Qifrey makes some reference to the future — when he indirectly promises a tomorrow, a next week, an ‘after your commissions are done’. It’s the subtlest thing, a flicker, a spark; someone who knew him less well might not pick up on it. But Qifrey knows Olruggio as well as he knows himself, and he can hardly in good conscience begrudge him his flinch of cynicism. Not when it’s wholly his own fault for having put it there.
Fool you once, shame on me. Fool you twice, still shame on me. Fool you thrice… well, if it’s any consolation whatsoever, I was fooling myself most of all.

Summary
Qifrey initiates being with Olruggio, then pulls away, then initiates, and so it goes, ad nauseam. Olruggio doesn't know how to put an end to it, but why would he even want to? He always takes advantage of the time he's given with Qifrey. Always. Again and again... but he doesn't know that, either.
(Also, lots of cooking and baking, because the author loves #domesticity and the spin-off manga.)

Summary
Qifrey knows by now not to expect anything less than an ambush when he’s summoned to an audience with Beldaruit, but there’s a tiny, ridiculous part of him that holds out hope each time. For what, he’s not entirely sure. That his old master simply wants to see him, with no ulterior motive? Would that be too much to ask?
At least today, Beldaruit wastes no time with niceties. “You need a break,” he announces the moment Qifrey crosses the threshold of the Argentgard.
“Do I?” he replies, then adds, “Hello to you as well.”
“Yes, yes, hello my dear boy.” Beldaruit waves a hand as if he can flutter clean through the niceties. “When was the last time you had a proper vacation?”
