Being a caged bird is really not the worst thing in the world. You may not be able to take flight out in the sky, but in a cage as luxurious as the Forbidden City who would want to be part of the real world anyway. As long as you acquaint yourself with your jailer, and understand your environment, there’s really nothing wrong with living in a cage as such. Min Yoongi was of this opinion, unlike the sad concubines that were brought in over the years he didn’t delude himself with thoughts of love or over-ambition, he had one goal and it was all within his reach due to his bond with Namjoon. The Emperor let him get away with virtually anything for the sake of keeping the peace, and thus that’s how they ruled. Yoongi was merciless in the inner palace, and Namjoon was benevolent in court.
