The people Bruce had met did not seem bad. For all the terrifying skills displayed, Gotham's vigilantes behaved like (and this wasn't a topic Bruce was overly familiar with), well, like family.
Still, the sight of them, dressed in those kevlar suits, sent a wave of disgust up his throat. Even when he tried to swallow it back, the feeling lingered, churning and swirling in his stomach each time he glanced at those symbols.
Nightwing's blue bird. Batgirl's yellow bat. Robin's logo. Even Red Hood's graffiti-painted red bat.
... Why?
Or
Absolute Batman lands in the Mainline universe and learns that maybe his mission doesn't need to be a lonely one.

Summary
Haru Okumura didn't have a choice to go back. Yet, when faced with the opportunity to save those she cared about, she couldn't pass up on the chance. She refused to let herself be puppeted by this grand game beyond her for any longer, cutting her strings and moving forward to prevent the tragedies that plagued her life.
Her first order of business was to stop her father's killer from gaining the resources needed to rise to power. To complete that, a certain puppet's strings need to be cut as well, leaving one Goro Akechi falling tightly into the hands of those willing to give him an opportunity he was never granted before—a chance for a family.

Summary
Death had come for Viltrum. Thousands of years spent dominating the weak, and a well-engineered bug is what does them in? Conquest could see the irony, despite not caring much for it. Regardless, he anticipated his deployment upon the enemy that had ravaged them so. Blood would slake his thirsty flesh once again, and the rigamarole of immortal monsters would trudge on another few centuries. So what if his race withered away?
Except... Thragg had other plans. Something about locating a species capable of cross breeding. Conquest wouldn't have cared--if it weren't he being selected for such a bore.
