    “Headed to the wedding?”

“Of my sister?” Kara replies curtly, pushing her bag onto the compartment again—with success, this time. She turns to give Lena a flatly irritated look. “Yes. I am.”

Lena nods, sardonically amused. “What are the odds?”

Kara rolls her eyes. “I don’t think there are thousands of flights headed to Sydney every day,” she says, sticking her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants.

“Oh, but there kind of are,” Lena pushes on, each word dripping with more and more smooth condescension. “There’s American, Qantas, Qantas through Dubai, codeshares. Just our luck, I suppose.”

“Right,” Kara answers flatly, pulling her hands out to cross her arms tight. “How blessed are we.”

Two years later, they both find themselves thrust together again at a destination wedding in Sydney. Will they be able to get through their unresolved attraction unscathed?

”That’s almost everyone on the list. What was that you said about us finding someone easily?”

“Well, there’s still two more!” Sam points out, tapping the last two names.

Lena looks down at her sheet – in a loopy script is written ‘Kara Danvers – guitar!’, with a large smiley face drawn next to it. Directly underneath that is ‘Alex Danvers – drums’, written in an untidy scrawl.

“Please, god, let them be half-decent,” Lena mutters, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

Lena and the Worldkillers are down two members, and certified heartthrob Kara Danvers and her sister are newly band-less. They accidentally form National City’s hottest lesbian rock band, and it’s a match made in heaven – as long as everyone can keep it in their pants.

    Summary

Lillian’s cool tones still cause the same reaction they have since Lena was a child, when her tears were met with cold indifference and harsh reminders that Luthors did not cry. Her brain shutters, the panic pushed to the back of her thoughts as she straightens and obediently follows her mother and Mon-El to the boarding ramp.

Her fiancee’s grip is like a vise on her arm as he leads her onto the ship, into a life she doesn’t want and a country she doesn’t know. Lena usually tries to stay firmly on the side of realism rather than fancy, but with Mon-El at her side, Lillian ahead, and Mon-El’s loyal manservant Corben following them with the bags, Lena has the distinct feeling that she’s being dragged onto the Titanic in chains.

    Summary

“Friends don’t know you like this.”
That’s what Kara tells herself each time Lena shows up after midnight, looking too soft for the world she pretends to rule. And Lena tells herself she doesn’t mean the things her eyes say—doesn’t mean the touches she keeps starting.
Two chapters. Two sides of the same ruin.
They call it friendship, even as they break every rule of it.
They call it nothing, even as they do everything friends don’t.
