When Jeremy Wilshire falls in love, it’s like an arrow that painfully pierces through his heart. After his last failed attempts, he learned to not wear his heart on his sleeve, that it would be easier on his own heart not to indulge in anyone else. He found that it would be easier on his own family if he did not indulge in another man. What Jeremy did not know was what he would do if he ever found the right one.
What Jean Moreau does not know about life is the beauties that come along with it. The rainbows after a rainy morning. Fireworks illuminating the night sky. The sun setting in the afternoon. Searching for these dizzying wonders took him much too long to find, but when he did, he knew he needed to hold onto them. What he needed was a person to share these moments of life, but he did not realize what it would take.

The next morning, Jean and Cat were cooking eggs and avocado toast when Jeremy walked in. His eyes were slightly puffy, due to him staying up again to work on his paper. Though, that’s not what caught Jean’s eyes: Jeremy’s even paler than he was the night before. His arms wrapped around Jean’s waist as he cooked, but when he placed his head on his shoulder, a burning heat exuded from him.
“It smells good.” His voice sounded small and like he ate gravel.
Jean turned around to look directly at Jeremy who gave him a weak smile. “You are sick.”
