"Report me all you want, Severus. I wanted a bath; I took a real beating. Thiseldown really had it out for me." Potter washed his arms, dragging his hand over his bare arm and up to his throat. Under each bruise, his skin was tan; something tugged in Severus's stomach.
"Well, you deserve it, only if I had known you got your ass handed to you, I would have watched," Severus's words didn't hold as much anger or passion as he thought they would have, should have had. Potter frowned a little. Maybe he was confused as to why Severus wasn't acting all obsessed with him; after all, he must have thought his enchanted kiss had worked.
"The enchantment didn't work, you know, if that's what you're wondering about," Severus added. Potter looked up, and their eyes met. "Enchantment? What are you talking about?"
"Don't pretend, Potter. I know the kiss was an attempt to love enchant me, embarrass me, trying to get me to confess to everyone how I like you. Well, it didn't work as you intended," Severus said and smiled smugly; to his surprise, Potter's face flushed pink, and he looked away.

Wade dramatically clutched his chest, feigning heartbreak. "Oh, there it is again! The denial! Astrid, did you see that? The new kid is clearly unconditionally and irrevocably in love with me!" Wade exclaimed, fluttering his hand as if fanning himself in exaggerated delight.
Peter couldn't resist a playful jab. "Isn't that a Twilight quote?" he quipped, inching away from Wade, as if to maintain a safe distance from his relentless antics. He watched as Wade gasped dramatically, pretending to cover the part of his mask where his mouth would be.
"Oh my! The arachnid is cultured too! How ever shall I quench my thirst for adventure now?" Wade replied, his voice laced with mock concern. Peter simply shook his head, not fully sure what he had gotten himself into. Astrid, on the other hand, couldn't contain her laughter, finding their banter highly entertaining. -

Katelyn managed a bittersweet smile, her gaze filled with a compassion he didn't deserve. "Aaron, I'm not going to kiss you," she replied gently, her hand touching his cheek to wipe away an escaping tear. He closed his eyes, feeling an overwhelming mix of emotions – pathetic, wretched, and broken.
"I do love you, you know that, right?" Katelyn's voice was soft, a soothing balm to his conflicted mind. Aaron's eyes remained shut, his face tilted away. He felt like a mess of raw nerves. "I should have realized sooner that your efforts weren't a sign you'd change. I clung to a hope that perhaps you'd eventually reciprocate my feelings."

"Open the door," Wymack's voice commanded before abruptly severing the connection. Ella's gaze lingered on her phone, its weight heavy in her hands before she gently placed it upon the bed. Stepping towards the door, she swung it open, revealing Wymack's presence before her. Nicky, Aaron, an uncanny doppelgänger of Aaron, a tall figure with dark hair, and a redhead loomed behind him. Ella gripped the door, her voice soft, almost timid. "Hello," she greeted, her vulnerability betraying the apprehension that coursed through her.
Before the words could fully escape her lips, Nicky's interruption shattered the fragile ambiance.
"Wow, is that a drum set?" Nicky surged past Ella, barging into her apartment with audacious zeal. The rest of the group followed suit, their invasion of privacy blatant and unapologetic.
