She pulled back her right sleeve, showing him the tattoo that was still healing on the inside of her arm just below the elbow. She heard him catch his breath.
“The crow and cup,” he searched her face. “Why now?” It was customary for every member of the Dregs to get the tattoo to prove their loyalty and to show rivals that they were protected by the gang. Kaz had never forced one on her, one of his first kindnesses back when she had known so few.
“To remind me of home when I’m away.”
He tilted his head slightly. “Ketterdam?” He sounded surprised.
“For the Suli, home isn’t a place, it’s the people.”
“Us?” he queried, the flick of his eyes indicating the whole of the room.
“You, Kaz.”

Summary
The Force moves in mysterious ways, and sometimes it even has its own agenda. Rey finds herself caught in a battle with fate that throws her together with Kylo Ren, binding them together in the most powerful way possible... only to have fate drop her like a hot potato.
A broken Force Bond isn't the easiest thing to bear, especially when the one you're missing is your sworn enemy and the father of your child.
Warning: Parenting: Skywalker Style.
(Kind of a deconstruction of the X-made-them-do-it-to-have-a-child fics, which always seem to end once a kid is born, whereas I'm more interested in what comes AFTER the not so happily-ever-after.)

After a French notary contacts Rey to inform her she's inherited a house in the Drôme (France), she decides from one day to the next to quit her job and move there.
The house is pretty secluded, there's no service, no internet, no way to reach other people aside from the landline in the living-room.
Ideal conditions, by her standards, as those theoretically should allow her to be perfectly alone.

“Who are you?” The man carrying the newspaper asked her, scrunching up his brow. He looked her up and down, completely befuddled. One by one, the other man, the doctor, and the stormy woman turned to look at her. They wore almost identical expressions of confusion. Rey blinked, speechlessly. The appropriate answer was "a waitress", or "a stranger," or even "a crazy, perpetually single woman who’s been hopelessly, inexplicably in love with your comatose son for weeks."
Behind her, the nurse huffed, cocking her hip. As if it was obvious, she said, “She’s his fiancée.”
