Summary
Every morning she would make her silent journey away from the manor, and upon reaching the crest of the hill, she would sit and welcome the day, communing with nature before the tedious tasks of the day ahead. She loved the smell of the grass, the trees, the wildflowers that bloomed in thick clusters along the trail she walked. She would close her eyes, breathe deeply, and will her nose to remember every single smell, and her ears every sound. All of this would energise her and keep her plodding along throughout the day. She would hold onto this feeling so that the next morning she could look forward to doing it all again.
And as the sun rose higher, she knew that it was time to return to her life—the life of a servant to a noble family. The life of a witch not born to any fortune, whose parentage was unremarkable: the life of a Muggleborn.

Rey should have known it was a trick.
She dangled, in wolf form, upside down in the snare, her jaw snapping viciously in the direction of the fresh deer carcass that, of course, had been too good to be true.
She should have been more careful; however, she was tired and she was cold, and she was hungry. Oh, so hungry - a hunger that sunk its claws into her bones and gnawed at the hollows of her skin where healthy fat should be.
And now she was trapped. Trapped and still hungry.
Fuck.
She twisted her body wildly in an attempt to escape the snare, howling as the claw-like clamp ground into her flesh.
Snares were often used by hunters to catch small pests such as foxes and rabbits, with larger traps being set for deer and wildcats. However, they were not usually made of solid silver.
Almost as if they were designed specifically to catch rogue wolves.
Double fuck.
