Summary
Illario enjoys exploring sex with Bellara, and that's absolutely all that's happening here. She finds a scene in at an orgy and wants to experience it, Illario is totally fine with helping out.
The system works for them, a give and take that is more enjoyable than he expected, even if he has to wait for her to finish visiting with Lucanis or Rook before she comes to see him. He knows exactly where he stands with her - too guileless and straight-forward to attempt any of the mind games he's used to from partners. It's refreshing in a way, or at least it should be, but the easiness of her smiles grates on him. He's never been one to leave well enough alone, to not ask for a little bit more no matter how many times he learns that lesson.

The door to his bathroom bangs open, handle slamming against the door hard enough that Illario is sure it's going to leave a dent on the wall. The bounce back nearly hits Bellara in the face, but she catches it and barges her way in.

He continued, “I made love to her there, and we shared one beautiful, torrid night together. But it wasn’t meant to be! Her father was a man of the faith you see. The very next day he announced he had promised her hand to a chaste marriage with a Chantry brother.”
Bellara frowned and flicked through her notes. “I thought her dad died at sea, leaving her the heiress to a wealthy estate?”
Illario paused then nodded. “Ah, yes of course. How could I forget. She had two fathers. They were gay.”
Illario happily agrees to let Bellara tie him up and try out praise kink. He's a supporter of the arts after all, and she needs inspiration for her novel.
Illario just didn't expect she would have so much to say. It breaks him a little.

Summary
Illario is left alone in Villa Dellamorte, with nothing to do and no way to leave the estate. He decides he's going to pass the time by pestering his cousin, and overhears Lucanis and Rook getting up to some fun in the First Talon's office.
Illario only sneaks into the secret servants' passageway and watches them through the peephole because he's curious, alright? Their relationship baffles him - who would want to settle down with someone boring, like Lucanis? And why would Lucanis want someone like Rook, who was utterly unremarkable? So he only watches them fuck to figure out what they find appealing about each other.

Summary
Rook was about to physically shake the thought from her head when the press of Lucanis’ warm hand against her leg ripped her straight back to reality. Not that it was his intention, it seemed; the Venatori’s blade had caught her near the top of her thigh and left a wickedly long laceration in its wake. She watched his brow furrow as he looked it over, dabbing bits of the salve along it to help with the pain the best it could. Each touch sent a jolt of pain up her leg, the sensation settling unnervingly hot in her core in a way that was absolutely unintentional.
She bit her lip, and let her head fall back. Fuck.
