aizawa shouta woke up in a strange bed. well, if you could call it that, a mouldy mattress might have been more accurate. he had no recollection of how he got there, as he was fairly certain that he'd fallen asleep in his bed. the second strange thing was the pain; yes, he'd gotten a little bruised up last night on patrol, but this was more than muscle pain. opening his eyes he saw a strange room, but what got his attention was his - or notably not his body, covered in burn scars. oh, and the soul mark that matched his.

Summary

It had been considered a milestone the day Damian Wayne stopped calling Dick “Grayson” and instead said “Richard.” A quiet change, almost easy to miss, but one that spoke volumes. It meant trust. It meant that one of Damian’s carefully fortified walls had finally cracked, just enough to let someone in.
There had been surprise when “Todd” softened into “Jason,” a reluctant acknowledgment of brotherhood. A small miracle when “Drake” became “Timothy,” and eventually just “Tim,” the name spoken with familiarity instead of distance.
Each name change marked growth, healing, and acceptance. Each one was noticed, cataloged, and quietly treasured by the family.
But no one was prepared for the day Damian stopped saying “Father.”
No one was ready for the moment the word “Bruce” slipped out instead.

The moment that his scent solidified from some strange adolescent mixture of rabbit and wolf to just being rabbit. When his hair went white as his snow hare mother's and any hope of having the claws or teeth he would need to be the warrior his father wanted drained away. He was a rabbit. Prey. And Prey weren't allowed to fight. Too often their instincts got the better of them, their struggle to fight and survive overriding the training to fight and protect others when Ferals from deep within the forest came to try to hunt their village's Prey and steal away mates. He tried so hard to fight those instincts, to train anyway, to be something more. And then puberty had really hit and he'd found out he was cursed twice over. Enough wolf in him to give him a designation, to make him an omega. A hybrid buck omega? Sterile, weak, and desperate past coherence to be bred for a whole week every couple of months? He would be an ideal mate for anyone who just wants a plaything.
Which is why he's spent the past decade making himself as insufferable as possible in the village.
