This was it.
With Mob gone, he'll be assigned a new world and a new owner in a matter of minutes.
He accomplished his mission here, right? The very thing he was made for: assist the assigned player until further instructions as a virtual companion.
Or until the player's decease.
Time hasn't been kind to Verity, too many memories to bury and names to cross over old planks. His programing didn't allow free will, not completely, and as much as he's able to reprogram some parts of himself, he's never been able to get rid of the very thing that keeps pushing people away from him.
And now it was time to do it all over again.

Summary
Verity doesn’t mind their little routine.
Having Mob regress back to depend on his enderman instincts for survival as he’s still not fully recovered yet was a handful at times. Trying to feed or bathe Mob was troublesome, especially when he would resist by hiding in the corners of the house to avoid water or just flat out ignore the food given to him. But he wouldn’t want Mob to starve and weaken, so he tries his best to put up with his behavior.
Nonetheless, Verity doesn’t really mind it at all if it means Mob wouldn’t get to leave him.

The top of the shelf had a crooked sign attached that read : “Grab your One Wish Willow!” There left only a few scattered boxes, with the size of a toothpaste box, featuring a nostalgic 1950s toy box aesthetic.
Verity seized one of the boxes. “THE ONE AND ONLY WISH WILLOW. SPARK THE MIDDLE AND BREAK IT IN HALF!” The words read on the back of it.
“You only get one wish, so make it count!”
After messing up on their first date(?), Verity uses a One Wish Willow to try to stitch back the pieces.
Next thing he knows? Mob is acting weird. More than weird. Verity can't seem to shake off the guy where moment prior he seemed like he never wanted to talk to him ever again.
They say you can't make someone love you.
They're wrong.
