It’s been six months since Anakin returned home to his family and nothing is the same. Though he’s overjoyed to be reunited with his wife and children, he’s all too aware of his own brokenness. He’s plagued by nightmares and terrifying flashbacks, events that scare his wife and leave Anakin shaken. When Anakin’s worst fear is realized following a nightmare, he realizes that there may not be anything left of him to save.

Summary
Anakin and Padme are supposed to be celebrating their first anniversary with a date at their favorite restaurant. Hours pass without word from Anakin and Padme gets worried. Fearing the worst Padme calls the only person who might know what’s happening, Anakin’s best friend Obadiah. What he tells her breaks her heart; Anakin’s mother Shmi has been gravely injured in what appears to be a robbery attempt gone horribly wrong. Padme drops everything and runs to her boyfriend's side.
