Against his better judgement, desperate to know his purpose in life thinking he has nothing to lose, he decides to follow his intended purpose. Work along the officers in the DPD as a detective, but instead of going in as an android, he disguises as a human.

The android revolution has been won, but not for everyone. Not for Connor. Markus already passed judgment on him once, he can’t see a future where that outcome might change. And yet, as tempting as it is to save the Deviant Leader the trouble of killing him, he is reluctant to die before he gets the chance to experience something pleasant. Perhaps making sure the Lieutenant was alright might achieve that.

When Hank drops him from the roof, he's just a machine. as much as he doesn't want it to be true, this android isn't his Connor anymore, it's just a machine.
but when Hank reaches the street bellow... he thinks maybe he wasn't just a cold hearted machine after all. Christ the kid is still alive, and he's... he's crying...
