The earth outside looked sick. Scarred, blemished with vine growths that pulsed faintly. “…what,” Billy whispered.
Harrington was standing a few feet away, bat clenched loosely in his hand, shoulders slumped as if something vital had been ripped out of him. His face was pale, eyes wide and unfocused, mouth slightly open.
He looked destroyed. Like someone who had just watched their worst memory crawl back out of the grave.
Billy took an involuntary step toward him. “Harrington?” The Alpha didn’t respond at first. His gaze was fixed on the windows, on the blue-lit wasteland beyond, his breathing shallow and uneven.
“No,” Harrington said finally, voice hoarse. “No, no, no…”
He dragged a hand down his face, staining it further with grime. His scent had shifted completely now—sharp panic undercut by something older, painful. “This isn’t—” He swallowed hard. “This can’t…”
Billy’s chest tightened. “What…?” he asked again, barely audible. Harrington looked at him then, really looked. And whatever he saw on Billy’s face—fear, fury, raw survival—it made his expression crumple.

Milky.
No, no, no—
Billy inhales again, choking, throat clogging on that frail note of young.
His hands shake. His glands throb faintly beneath harsh fingers, tender in a way they have never been before. It must be the heat suppressants. Or exhaustion. Or proximity, too many nights spent too close to an Alpha who smells like sun-warmed stone and summer rain.
That’s all.
Except the scent does not fade. He rubs and rubs, neck flaring red under brutal mistrations.
It deepens.
Billy lowers the cloth, staring at it without seeing, as a frigid surge of something pools, heavy and sickening, in his chest. This is not something blockers can erase. The body always tells the truth eventually.
And his body has decided.
“Fuck,”

Summary
When Mu Qing starts to receive prayers regarding people going missing thanks to a self-proclaimed ‘Matchmaker,’ he goes to investigate. Then he goes missing himself, and he’s prepared to live and die in the domain since he’ll never receive his ‘match.’
Then Feng Xin shows up, not knowing anything about the domain or the curse.
The kicker? They have to have sex to get out, and Feng Xin doesn’t know that Mu Qing wasn’t born male.
