Bella notes first Rosalie’s scowl. It’s as though her face was made to assume permanent dissatisfaction. Her eyes are mean and her stance is tense and rigid, poised for attack. Rosalie notices Bella’s scrutiny and snarls. Literally. She bares her teeth and hisses and everything.
Bella is in love.
Rosalie then makes sure to share her snarl equitably across the entire pack, making Bella feel considerably less special.
Bella speaks. “Nice to meet you guys. You seem weirdly close for siblings. Is incest a vampire thing?”

Now the bullets are almost out, and she could survive, perhaps, a small attack. Granger chokes with a cough, clutching her ribs. Her lungs are burning; as if on fire. A sad laugh escapes Hermione's lips when the coughing fit finally ends. How ironic would it be to die of pneumonia in a world gripped by a zombie apocalypse?
