Oikawa asks, taunting the red head.
“How long has it been, Toshi? Eight months? I love him more and more each day”
Tendou professes as he squeezes Ushijima’s shoulders and locks eyes with Oikawa again.
Tendou loves joking around with his opponents before a volleyball match but-
“Tendou, I am so sorry.”
Ushijima simply says, and he sounds like he really means it.
Tendou is so confused. Why was Ushijima apologizing to him?
“I had no idea that the nature of our relationship was that of boyfriends and not best friends. I shall do my best to make the necessary adjustments to my behavior.”
Wait. Did Ushijima not know he was joking to Oikawa about them being boyfriends?

TLDR: Tendou makes a joke to Oikawa that he and Ushijima are dating and Ushijima actually thinks he is serious about it. This makes Ushijima realise a thing or two about their relationship and the adjustments he might want to make to said relationship.

He doesn’t like chocolate and he hates the awkward confessions he has to reject – because for some damn reason, he is very popular with girls. After everything goes wrong on Valentine’s Day, Tsukishima is just glad that it’s over. Until he wakes up the next morning and it’s February 14th all over again.
