    "I received reports, nearly one year past, of a slaughter in Beauclair."

    Geralt didn't manage to suppress his wince.

    "I am told," Emhyr continued, "that a creature dubbed the 'Beast of Beauclair,' one Dettlaff van der Eretein, was responsible. Of course, these reports detail your extensive involvement, as well."

    Emhyr met Geralt's eyes, and then nodded to himself, like the whole story was written out right there on Geralt's face. "I see," he murmured. "According to these reports, the Beast was a higher vampire. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to speak of him in the present tense, as he remains, by all accounts, very much alive."

     

    Geralt is summoned, quite unwillingly, to discuss the threat of higher vampires with Emhyr var Emreis. With his own higher vampire hiding in plain sight in Velen, he finds he has a lot of feelings on the subject.

    已经不知道是第多少次点开了，心目中迷思冽药第一这篇就是毫无异议当之无愧的第二，怎么会有这么宏大这么浪漫这么敢想的权谋？构思之奇巧完全是浑然天成，太喜欢这个故事对坟头蹦迪火的隐喻诠释了（x）以及完全看不出来是两个译者翻译的从头到尾译文都保持连贯而且均在顶级水平，让人不禁发问我做了些什么导致能吃到这种东西，我上辈子是个功德箱这种好事也轮不到我啊，难道我上辈子是维瑟米尔
