Summary
Lily and James always planned on having a large family and so, when they encounter a newly orphaned baby, they don't hesitate to take in the boy as their own son. A year later, Lily has her own firstborn, and several more children soon follow. Everything is boisterous and loving in the Potter household until disaster strikes, and James Potter passes away. Suddenly left on her own with five children under the age of ten, Lily has to figure out how she will take care of them.
This is all old news to eleven-year-old Tom Riddle, who was sent to live with his recently discovered muggle grandparents when he was eight. He didn't think about his life with the Potters for years! He certainly didn't miss them at all!
At least not until he enrolled in Hogwarts: a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As a brand new outcast of Slytherin, he wonders about his childhood friend and brother, Harry Potter, and where he is in life. Does he remember Tom? Is he excited to come to Hogwarts? Will he want to reconnect when he does?
So he writes a letter and sends it out. What he gets in response, however, changes everything.

“What... is that?” Aether’s voice was heavy, and also far away. Albedo used his other hand to trace his fingers over the pitch-black scales, glinting with a dull purple sheen.
“...That’s new,” he observed.
“Um... DUH,” said Paimon in his ear, and his surroundings came back into focus somewhat.
“It looks like my body is undergoing yet more changes. It... may be dangerous for me to go further.”
“What should we do?” Aether looked at him with wide eyes. “Should we go back?”
“No... we’ve come this far.” Albedo pulled his glove back up, mouth set in a grim line. “Just promise me one thing.”
“What?”
“If, at any point, I stop seeming like myself...” He paused, eyes fixed on the ground beneath Aether’s boots. “Then you should take that as a signal to get me out of here.”
OR
Albedo takes Aether and Klee with him on his sabbatical to Inazuma. What seems at first like a relaxing vacation quickly turns dangerous as he faces both a mysterious threat from outside, and a terribly familiar threat from within.
