He tried to be normal so he wouldn't drag anyone else down with him, but it was getting harder and harder every day. After everything they had all gone through, the last thing Gwen and Dad needed was the burden of carrying his weight. However, like most things with the Grabber, becoming a burden also felt inevitable.

Edwin and Charles eventually have forever to figure it out, but Charles just died, Edwin is remembering how to people, there is the spirit of a dead kid that doesn't want to leave his mom, and finding a sense of purpose is something even the dead need to do.
