Summary
“Alastor! Pleasure to be meeting you. Quite a pleasure!” One hand reset on his chest, and the other shoots into the air. It’s the bow you did in high school, back when you wanted theater to pay your bills. A performer’s bow.
You chuckle. “I don’t think it will be quite the pleasure you think.”
“Is that so?” Alastor’s smile remains constant. “And why would that be?”
You show him the tray you’re holding. “I’m here to do your sutures.”
[Or after a seven-year absence, you find the man you were married to in life, not only back in town, but also helping . . . *checks notes* . . . the Princess of Hell run a hotel aimed at rehabilitating sinners who were sent to the bad place for a reason.]Season 1: Completed

Summary
Dream places the ruby necklace around his neck. “You seem displeased with me.”
“Do I” You tilt your head, smiling.
“Yes,” he says, and there’s a smile on his face that can barely be called one. At least he sounds amused. “Have I done something to gain your ire?”
“It is not I who seems . . . displeased,” you say, lightly. “The Dreaming can fell it, my dear. Every resident can feel The Corinthian’s absence.”
Dream stretches his hand out for you, close enough for you to see it as it is – An offering. You take it, and slip your cold fingers into his own. His hands are warm. It’s so strikingly different from the mood of The Dreaming.
[Or the events of Sandman S1 and S2 with the soft song of a king and a queen. A dream and a star.]

Summary
The King of Dreams and Nightmares leaves for the Waking World with an assurance that he will return.
You know the truth.
You know better.
There’s a small part of you that says it’s for the best. That Roderick Burgess’ prison changes him. That this is his destiny. That you are doing no wrong. That . . . that it is not your place to interfere with matters that are not your own.
This is for the best.
Right?
. . . Right?

Summary
Alastor grumbles a little but lowers the infant to your height. There’s something oddly domestic about the way you run the back of your fingers across his cheek.
“It’s Angel Dust,” he says, simply even when it isn’t. “Apparently, we’ve been given a baby for a day.”
Your eyes roll in such a dramatic fashion, and Alastor is almost proud. “We?”
“Ever so brightly, Charlie had this idea in her head to experiment with a book full of spells,” Alastor says, laughing until his eyes wobble toward the side. “What belongs to me, belongs to you as well—So yes, we. But should you wish to be an absent mother, be my guest.”
[TLDR:When Charlie experiments with a book full of spells, it accidentally turns Angel Dust into a child. It's quite a good thing that Alastor and Reader come to the rescue . . . even at the cost of their date.]

Summary
“I’m bored of trying to teach you the same lesson over and over again.” Vox leans close enough for Vincent to feel the static on his screen. “Take what you desire, Vincent, whatever or whoever it takes with no remorse.”
Vincent leans a little closer. “Why should I listen to you?”
“Trust me.” Vox hovers inches away from his lips, but never fully connects. “Trust us.”
Vincent likes those words. Trust me.
It’s a little too easy to wrap his fingers around the screen, tracing the side with his thumb. Vox stares at him, and it’s a little too smug for his liking. So, Vincent pushes his lips towards him like he’s done so many times before.
[TLDR: There's a demon that likes to visit Vincent from time to time, and maybe, Vincent likes that he visits, bringing along that easy smile and proud laughter that inspires Vincent in more ways than one]

Summary
The first time he meets the devil, Alastor is twenty-one years old.
It is not the last time, though it does set the course for everything that follows. It is where it all begins.
A canon divergence AU, beginning with a very different first meeting.
