They had been at this for a long time. The longer it took to try and find a way out, the more Chara worried that one day Frisk was going to run out of Determination, and then they’d lose each other. Then the Smiley Trashbag- Sorry. Sans had to notice something for the first time in RESETS. And Chara couldn’t even kill him this time.
But from there, from a small ripple, the consequence spread, and maybe, just maybe this was the break they needed to get out of this mind numbing loop.
