Summary
“What kind of parents let their five year old play with firecrackers!” Jaskier hisses, and presses the handkerchief down harder against his left hand. The bleeding has mostly stopped. “Seriously, the kid could have blown my hand off! Or taken someone’s eye out! Or killed—”
“It was one firecracker, Jask.”
Jaskier isn't used to getting hurt, so Geralt is gentle with him.

Summary
“I love you.”
That is the wrong thing to say, because Jaskier is growing more agitated.
“Please don’t,” he hisses, shifting away from Geralt on the small bed. The fit is too tight, so even when he ends up on the edge there’s still only a hand’s breadth between their bodies.
Jaskier is angry, and Geralt tries his best. Some heartache is just unavoidable.

Summary
“Jaskier,” Geralt breathes, the whisper too careful for Jaskier to handle after all these days. “You are in shock.”
“What? No, I’m not!”
Jaskier frowns, and struggles on his feet to prove the point. If only his legs would cooperate and stop feeling like jelly.
In which Jaskier is a stubborn idiot. Geralt is there for him.

Summary
Jaskier wakes with a start. It takes him a second to realize he’s not standing on top of a mountain. The air that fills his lungs is warm instead of cold. There’s no wind in his hair.
The dragon hunt was years ago, and yet some old hurt won't go away.

Summary
“Anyone can be heroic, given these extra strengths and giant swords,” Geralt muses to himself, not looking at Jaskier anymore. “I suppose, any bard should be drawn to a witcher because of it.”
“Allow me to disagree here,” Jaskier says. “Brute strength isn’t what makes someone a hero. Being a witcher isn’t what makes someone a protector either.”
Jaskier meets a stable hand in Posada, not a witcher. He is fascinated by Geralt anyway.

Summary
“Oh, Geralt! Come and see!”
The witcher hums absently as Jaskier picks out the straws and dirt obscuring his view and cradles the newborn foal’s hoof in his palm. There’s a layer of padding covering the sole. It’s … kind of spongy, and moist to the touch.
In which Roach becomes a mom. Jaskier discovers an interesting fact about baby horses' hooves and muses about his own conditions. Geralt is being a supportive friend and giving Jaskier all these feelings.

Summary
“You got a mark, wolf.” Vesemir points at the inside of Geralt’s wrist. “You are lucky.”
Geralt frowns, prodding at the yellow flower that appeared on his skin overnight.
“How is it lucky to know who will kill me?”
Or,
Geralt's soul mark is a single buttercup. It belongs to the person who will kill him.

Summary
The mattress dips. Soft lips are pressed to Jaskier’s biceps, slow and lazy. Tiny kisses pepper across his shoulder but Geralt doesn’t seem to be eager to move up.
“Most people don’t spend that much time there, you know?” Jaskier turns to look at his witcher with heavy-lidded eyes.
“I like it here.” Geralt presses another open-mouthed kiss with a pop. “It’s my third favorite part of you.”
Surprise replaces the fog in Jaskier’s mind very quickly.
“Wait,” he says, “there’s a list?”

Summary
Jaskier presses another kiss to Geralt’s jawline, the witcher’s stubble scratching his lips a little. The bard hums contentedly before doing it again.
“Are you done?”
“Nuh-uh,” Jaskier shakes his head, tucking away a strand of white hair. “I’m not nearly done, my dear.”

Summary
“What’s the catch, Jask?”
“Do I require a reason to dance with you? Or am I not allowed to just enjoy some quality time with my favorite witcher?”
Geralt simply lifts an eyebrow.
“All right. You are too smart for your own good.” Jaskier chews on his lips. “There is this one gentleman, who may have been too eager for my…company, despite my explaining of the situation.”

Summary
It is a simple drawing of two stick figures, one with a sword on its back, the other has long hair parted in the middle. At least, that’s what Jaskier thinks they are. The hair is really just two curved lines.
Under the two figures are two words written carefully: best friends.

Summary
“I’m not your friend.”
“No? But I wish to become yours. After all, you just saved my life so selflessly and gallantly!” The prince proclaims. “You should have seen yourself, Geralt. So brave with a sword, like a knight from the stories! If we were in a fairy tale, this is where I offer myself to you in eternal gratitude.”
“Are all princes this cheeky?”
“I don’t know. Are all witchers this heroic and beautiful?”
Geralt doesn't want to get involved. And yet when he saves the prince's life, he somehow finds himself drawn to this impossible man. As he and Jaskier grow closer, war also looms on the horizon.
It's the stuff of fairy tales, but there's always a twist. Can a witcher find his happily ever after in the time of heartbreaks and deaths?

“Are we to sleep in the same room with every monk in this temple?”

“Drink this and I’ll forget all about you?”
Jaskier holds the two small vials to the sunlight, the yellow liquid within sloshing gently, casting spots of golden shade onto his face.
“No, all your memories of me will still be there,” Geralt explains.
“Only gets rid of the ‘loving you’ part then.”

Summary
“Well, don’t beat yourself up, oh mighty witcher. I’m sure you only needed the rescue because those villains took advantage of your only weakness.” The bard adds his usual dramatic flair into the last two words.
Geralt blinks. Something shifts in his expression. If the bard didn’t know better, he’d say the witcher is flustered.
“Mocking me, are you?”
Or, when Geralt gets kidnapped, it's up to Jaskier to rescue him. Some truths about a witcher's worst weakness come to light.
