Summary
“I’m right here. You are safe. I got you out. I have you…” Geralt repeats it once again when Jaskier screams awake for the last time. Dawn is already breaking, and the faint light allows Geralt to see the bruises under cornflower blue eyes.
“I don’t want to go back to sleep,” Jaskeir croaks.
“Let’s stay awake.”
“Don’t want that either.”
Or,
When Jaskier is troubled with nightmares, Geralt tries to distract him. Luckily, the mountains of Kaer Morhen have a few more surprises for them.

Summary
Jaskier stretches his leaves and feels the edges dry under the hot, empty sky. His petals are drooping, losing their bright yellow color. Shame, he thinks, yellow is such a good look for summer.
None of it matters though. He won’t survive today.
He is only a buttercup by the road.
Or,
A flower is saved by a palmful of water. He returns the favor with a lifetime's tears.

Summary
“Ellander was twenty-seven years ago,” Geralt states and watches as Jaskier’s eyes become round like bells.
“Holy—has it really been that long?” Jaskier stares up at Geralt, huffing unbelievingly. “It feels like yesterday that I met you in that horrible, horrible tavern.”
“That was exactly thirty years ago. That’s how time works, Jask.” A strand of hair is getting close to the bard’s eyes, so Geralt brushes it away, revealing silver streaks that are growing more obvious each day.
Or,
Destiny has one more surprise for Geralt after all these years, involving Jaskier of all people. It comes in the form of a soulbond and well-hidden heartache from the past.

Summary
By his feet, a dandelion sways in the breeze, proud but alone. Geralt bends down and breaks its stem, taking it in his gloved hand.
A song’s time, perhaps.
That’s all Geralt will ask for.

Summary
“Time makes you strong. You told me that when you were nine.”
“Can’t believe you remember it,” Yen chuckles, looking longingly at the other couples doing their steps and turns.
Geralt remembers everything she said. He remembers the day they met, the pride in her eyes as she glided across the ice with such elegance no child at that age should possibly have, the way she asked him if he’s alright with a hint of mockery in her eyes as he tripped over himself. Her hair flew in the wind, and that was it.
There has been no one else for him since.
Or,
Geralt and Yennefer are figure skaters. A sudden injury knocks their lives off course, but luckily, they find their way back to each other.

Summary
Geralt sleeps deeply and peacefully, a treat that is becoming more often since their retirement to the vineyard. It’s good that he’s sleeping, Jaskier tells himself. Rest never comes easy for a witcher, but somehow, Geralt has found it in this little corner of the world, where the days are gentle and the nights are mild.
It’s good, the sight of Geralt sleeping.
And yet, Jaskier is afraid.
He’s afraid to watch Geralt sleep these days.

Summary
Geralt pads across the room and stops right outside the nursery. In the dim light of a candle, Jaskier is pacing with Eva draped over his shoulder, doing every trick in the book to soothe her but to no avail. For a baby so tiny, she sure can match the lung capacity of any fiend out there.
In which Jaskier can't get their daughter to sleep. Geralt is still haunted by the memory of almost losing Jaskier.

Summary
Mwah!
Soft lips land between Geralt’s eyebrows, popping wetly, and Jaskier pulls away with a smug grin on his face.
Geralt blinks. Did the bard just…kiss him on the forehead?
“You were frowning, my dear,” Jaskier says cheekily, biting at his lower lip. “It’s a deadly condition if not treated in time. A forehead kiss is the only cure. Don’t you know?”

Summary
“I dreamed of home.”
Jaskier says before yawning, stretching his limbs like an overgrown cat in a sunbeam. With his legs still on Geralt’s lap, he almost dislodges himself from the fainting couch, so Geralt loops an arm around his waist.
“What’s it like?”
“Organized, for once. So Ciri must be visiting.”

Summary
“I dreamed of home,” Geralt murmurs into his pillow.
The bed shifts as another body moves closer, the covers slipping down to expose Geralt’s shoulder, letting in the chilled morning air.
“What’s it like?”
Jaskier’s whisper is barely audible with sleep weighing down on him, but his arm wraps around Geralt’s waist by instinct, as if he belongs there.
“A bit cold.”

Summary
“It’s…” Geralt presents a bouquet of wildflowers. “For you.”
The flowers are handpicked, stems messy and uneven, but the burst of colors has Jaskier letting out an amazed gasp. The ground is already growing barren. It must have taken Geralt a while.
“I love you, Jaskier.”
Nose still buried in the bouquet, tickled by the petals, Jaskier freezes. “What?”
Or,
Love comes to Jaskier on a fine autumn evening and, against all odds, never leaves.

Summary
The dull ache returns, a quiet thing spreading from the center of the palm.
Jaskier flexes his fingers. The armrests are soft, lined with paddings, nothing like that wooden chair. There are no ropes around his wrists, no splinters digging into his thumbs.
The pain gets worse.
It’s going to rain.

Summary
“Are you saying you don’t like sharing a bed with all these darlings?” Jaskier hugs Moonlight closer, scratching behind his ear. The silver wolf closes his yellows eyes and melts into Jaskier’s touch.
“The curse meant for them to kill you,” Geralt grunts. “And I’m not sharing, am I?”
“Are you jealous?” Jaskier raises an eyebrow. “Aww, do you have a crush on me?”
“We are married, Jask.”

Summary
The cottage looks smaller once Jaskier steps into it.
Sunlight spills through the windows, the mid-day heat fading as the afternoon stretches on. The sea glimmers in the distance, its violent roaring gentled into a hum behind the glass.
This cottage is warm and loved.
Lived in.
Jaskier goes to the coast with a piece of himself missing. Geralt is there to remind him.

“… It would be to take you off my hands!”
Geralt’s voice echoes in the ballroom, between the tall walls and the high ceiling. Everyone on the dance floor has fallen into silence. Even the band has stopped playing, their lead singer gaping with round eyes.
Jaskier blinks, impressed.
Or, Jaskier and Geralt stage a fake breakup. Someone's feelings get hurt for real.

Summary
“He looks at you differently when he thinks you are doing something cute. He trips over his words after you call him sweet names. The worst of it all—he blushes any time you are close. Blushes, like a fucking maiden. Urgh, I’m gonna throw up.”
“Oh,” Jaskier deflates. “Witchers blush?”
“See for yourself.” Lambert rolls his eyes.
Or,
Jaskier makes a surprising discovery and decides to test it out.
