Lena took a couple of steps back from her. She wrung her hands together, clearly nervous about the supposed objection she was going to have to this new creation. “Don’t tell me you created a time machine.”
Lena didn’t laugh. “Not exactly.”
That felt ominous. “Well, then what exactly?”
“I’ve…invented a way to…”
She could hear Lena’s heart beating wildly, which was only causing hers to quicken as well. She reached out for Lena’s hands again, but Lena pulled back. And she watched as Lena put up a wall between them.
“A way to…forget you.”

Lena and Kara erase each other from their memories, only to meet again.

“It’s a lot easier for me to keep my grip on you when I can actually feel your body.”
The phrase feel your body said in Kara’s voice rattles around in Lena’s head like a pinball machine, but she manages to shrug her sweater off and throw it somewhere behind them before she can second-guess herself. Kara is looking comfortable in a loose white t-shirt, and when she takes Lena by the waist and puts Lena’s hand on her shoulder the texture of it is light and soft.
“Let’s start from square one,” Kara says, so kindly that her next words take a few seconds to register in Lena’s brain. She tightens her grip on Lena’s waist, and says with full confidence:
“Dancing is a lot like sex.”

Against her better judgement Lena agrees to compete on Dancing with the Stars for the PR boost. When her chemistry with her partner Kara gets misconstrued by the press, there’s obviously only one solution.

She’s been waiting for this phone call for the last twenty-four hours and now she's staring at the missed call banner. Somehow she already knows that calling back isn’t going to work out in her favor, so instead she closes her eyes and clicks on the voicemail.
“Hi Lena, this is Kara Danvers! I got your messages, all seven of them. I’m so sorry that we didn’t have a chance to sit down this week in person, although it sounds like you’ve had your hands full at work. I have some stuff I need to take care of before we leave, so I’ll have to meet you at the airport. Since I’m cutting it a little close, I’ll send a courier to pick up my ticket from you this afternoon. And Lena? Take a deep breath. This is all going to be fine. Owen drops his head, hand clutching his heart. "That was only once, but yes, we'd all fall into oblivion without Hannah. My bigger point, and what I'm asking, though, is what talent might you have to offer?"
Outside of wrangling fourth graders, the only thing Dani's ever managed to accomplish is making coffee with just a pan, tap water, and near expired k-cups after her Keurig broke, so. "I'm really great at making coffee," she says, hopeful.
"You had me at I'm really great," Owen smiles, "the coffee is a bonus. I'll show you to your room."
