Which is why he ended up in a completely one-sided civil war with Timothy Drake.
Drake had always been the one person that he couldn’t figure out. Why did he make everyone so uncomfortable with his antics, but so wanted simultaneously? Damian wasn’t stupid. Far from it, actually. He could read body language almost as well as Cain could. But apparently, the one thing he couldn’t do, was figure out why, even though it was so very difficult to maintain relations with Drake, everyone felt bad leaving him alone. What made him such a valuable candidate that his own Father, would take time out of his busy schedule, in order to ensure that Drake, of all people, was feeling, “good”.
And why his Father couldn’t do the same for him.

Summary
Tim Drake. The kid who didn’t talk the most, but was known for his popularity. That cool, popular kid that stood up for the helpless ones. Robin. He was athletic, but not a jerk. So, naturally, he was one of the hardest kids to categorise. At least he used to.
That was when he didn’t have to worry about demons and anti-heroes trying to kill him. When he wasn’t apart of the Wayne Family. Back when Tim promised himself to become a regular civilian, rather than continuing being a hero after Robin. But nothing went as planned. And Tim hates himself for that.

Summary
Tim drake is settling into his new role as Robin, learning what it is to be part of a family, and slowly healing day by day. With the addition of Cass to the family, and then of Stephanie Brown as well, things go pretty well for a while for the Waynes, despite the new difficulties Tim, Cass, and Steph are all navigating with their respective parents. But in an international plot to take down Gotham city, a whole lot of Batdad taking care of traumatized kids, and a serious epidemic where no one is safe anymore, and it’s going to take everything the Batfam has if they're going to save Gotham this time.

In true Bruce fashion, Batman left Gotham for Paris on a simple “help Diana with a stolen artifact and meet a couple business clients as a cover” mission and somehow returned four days late with two cracked ribs, a box of authentic French fruit tarts, and a whole entire child following him off of the plane.

Bruce checks Tim’s IV. “Are you in any pain? Do you need more morphine?”
Tim’s pupils are so wide that only the faintest ring of blue can be seen. He watches Bruce the way a five-year-old watches cartoons. “I’m all good, B-dog. All Gucci, like we cool teens say." His words are slurred almost beyond recognition, but Tim doesn’t seem to notice or care. "I could fight Superman right now.”

“My biggest regret?” Memories flood him, of all his hard work wasted and ignored while others get praised. How Damian and Jason have killed and somehow Tim is the bad guy. How easily Dick throws him off and how Bruce praises Cass when she didn’t kill a man. Tim got told he couldn’t be trusted again. Some family.
He shoves the symbol at Bruce’s chest and watches as he stares at it, everyone stares at it. Eyes widen, apologies on the tip of tongues.
Tim shuts them down before the words can form.
