Summary
How do you make things right? Especially when you're the one who caused all the pain in the first place--
Colonel O'Neill is back at the SGC after a lengthy recuperation period--and this is his first mission back with the team. Sam's doing her best to act as if everything is normal. As if his absence wasn't her fault. As if he hadn't been captured, tortured, killed, and then revived time and time again because of her. Desperate to make things right, she's unsure how to accomplish that feat. Even worse, she's completely unsure where they stand--or whether he can even forgive her.

Summary
What started as a TuesdayMuseday prompt response has turned to its own beast, and I was inspired to keep diving in on Jacob's internal struggles as he becomes a Tok'ra.
Chapter 6 teaser:
‘Your people have not lived through millennia of deception, betrayal, and slaughter at the hands of the System Lords like we have. They do not yet grasp the patience survival requires. Many of us believe that allying ourselves with your kind will spell the end for the Tok’ra.’There was a pause and Jacob was left bereft of anything useful to add, suddenly dreading the upcoming Council meeting.
‘Despite the danger, I find myself drawn to your kind. Your stubbornness, your refusal to bow, even your impatience – it is refreshing after so long forced to live in shadow. Over the past two weeks, I have learned much from you, my friend. It may take time, but you must know that the Council will come to see the benefits of this alliance. We’ll just have to convince them.’
