“You don't have to do this.”
“You said yourself there's no one else you could trust with this job.”
“It's become too dangerous. They’ll have Jedi guarding her for sure after last time. You know what I have to do if they catch you, and I can’t…”
“It won’t come down to that.” She tugs her arm but he cannot find it in himself to let her go, only clings to her more tightly.
“I mean it, Zam. We could call the whole thing off, drop everything right now and disappear, pick up Boba and fly somewhere far in the Outer Rim, a green place with blue sky and sun and…”
“Jango, you have a tracker in your bone.”
“We cut my arm off. Whatever, I don’t care. I’m done with living like this. I just – I just want you safe, and with me and Boba. Zam, please?”
He slides his gloved hand higher along her arm. She takes a deeper breath and leans into the touch, then flicks her eyes between his visor and the jar of kohuns in her hand.

Summary
“Here they are…” Cody started, but at the exact moment he approached Obi-Wan from the side, Obi-Wan opened an upper cabinet without seeing him. The edge of the cabinet door hit directly at the side of Cody’s head.
“Sorry, dear”, Obi-Wan said but quickly noticed that Cody did not hear him anymore. His eyes had turned distant and cold, and he dropped the chopping board on the floor so that the vegetable slices spilled around at their feet. In his hand, Cody only held on to the knife, and his knuckles whitened as his grip tightened around the hilt. His voice came out shallow and monotone as he spoke:
“Good soldiers fol…”

Summary
“He’s troubled, and I can’t quite sleep myself. Would you hold us?” Din shifted his weight nervously from foot to foot, like he had any right to be shy about asking for something Luke would kill for.
“Of course.” Luke shifted to the edge of his bed and pulled back the blanket to give space for Din and Grogu to tuck in next to him. He let Din snuggle his back against him, as close as he wanted, and Grogu curl up against Din’s chest. Then Luke laid his arm over them both, so that he could make soothing caresses on Grogu’s arm with his thumb.
“It’s ok. I’m here. You can sleep”, Luke spoke softly to both the child and the omega

Summary
“You can name your price.” Snoke tossed a bounty puck down to Din. “Just bring me Skywalker.”
Din clicked the puck, and a blue-tinted holo of Luke’s head jumped out. It was clearly outdated, taken when he was younger and still a public figure, shorter hair, no beard, a serene look on his face.
When Din answered nothing, Snoke shifted his weight to lean on his right armrest. His golden robes glistened along with the movement.
“I had my apprentice on it. But he’s taking too long. A hunter of your experience will surely have no problem making quick work of it. So, Mando, what do you say?”

“You always start with that fork and knife and that small plate”, Din said thoughtfully.
“Well, this is the appetiser. And this is the main course and this dessert.” Luke pointed at each plate as he mentioned them.Din chuckled and something in his eye glinted. “And have you ever started with dessert?”
Luke had to think back. “No.”As a challenge, Din picked the slice of blueberry pie from his own dessert plate to his bare hand, bit off a corner and smiled at Luke with blue-stained lips.
Luke’s heartbeat raced up. The thought felt like rebellious. If anyone in the Guard knew… But they would not have to know, and that exactly felt like intriguing. Luke let the appetiser cutlery drop and picked his piece of blueberry pie in his hands

“Which one do you think he’d prefer?”
Artoo beeped dismissively at the jackets Luke was holding up, rolled to Luke’s wardrobe and pulled out a black tank top with a curved seam over the chest to highlight the shape of the pecs.
“I appreciate that, Artoo, but it’s a New Republic conference. All heads of world will be there. I need something more formal.”
Trust me, I’ve lived my life inside a metal shell, too. He likes to see skin on his man, Artoo beeped knowingly.

Summary
“Grogu?” the man says and squats down next to the child.
Right then, Grogu bursts into the loudest wail Luke has ever heard him make. He cries hysterically, tears streaming down his green, puffy cheeks and mouth wide open in a scream with no end.
The sound wrenches Luke’s heart, but still, he finds himself even more devastated by the look on the man’s face. He recognises it from the time he briefly saw it on the Imperial cruiser already more than a year ago. He remembers the deep brown eyes that are glistening with tears again – this time not because he is letting his child go but because he is reuniting with him and – there is something wrong.
Grogu keeps crying, and Luke can hear his stream of heartbroken thoughts through the Force: Where’s normal Dad? What happened to him? Where's Shiny Dad? Want my Dad back!
Then Luke remembers how Grogu has never showed him a single memory of his father without the armour and helmet he used to wear.

“I didn’t say congratulations yet, for winning.”
“Thanks.” Din smiles almost shyly, looking nothing like the fierce MC he was on stage. He swallows a mouthful of his beer, leans forward like he was studying Luke and asks: “Do you spit?”
Luke is about to choke on his beer because, after listening to the battle for the whole evening, he thinks he knows what Din means by 'spitting'. He barely manages to swallow and answer:
“Not in that way.” When Din quirks an eyebrow (very adorably), he elaborates: “I sing.”

Summary
The boy presses his head against the bunny costume’s soft fur, and Luke bends down to cover the little back and head with his paw gloves. After a couple of calming breaths, the boy giggles.
“What’s your name?” Din asks when Luke lets him go.
“I’m Grogu.” He smiles endearingly and hugs Din, too.“Grogu, that’s enough.” A sinister voice alerts them all. There are no more kids in the hall, only a stone-faced man in a pinstripe three piece suit - apparently Grogu’s father.

“Would you like to do something this weekend? Like a drive-in movie?”
Fennec’s hands stop working, and her smile looks like a fusion of an amused and delighted surprise.
“Are you – asking me out?”
“Yeah…”
“And you’d really like to go with me?” Now she sounds a tad suspicious and Din wonders what to say because there is not really a polite way to say that you are not exactly who I would prefer but that scenario is impossible and you are very nice so…
“Well, otherwise I wouldn’t ask, would I?”
“Ok, actually, I do want to go with you. Because…” She looks behind her shoulder as if to make sure that Boba is not back yet or his father sneaking into the garage for some reason. “Because I want to go on a date with Koska, but you know how my parents would take it. I want you as my cover.”

“Is this real beskar?”
His question makes Din tense out of habit, because those words are usually followed up with a blaster. But he relaxes again when he notices the blue eyes that are looking at him with sincere curiosity.
“No, it’s durasteel. Beskar is hard to come by these days. We lost so much to the Empire in the Purge.”
“One day I’ll blow up the Empire – everything they built by stealing and killing and oppressing.”
There is a flash in his eyes that momentarily convinces Din that it is not just rash arrogance but he could really do that. It makes Din think about how he fought back the bounty almost double his size with nothing but his very bare arms and legs. What could this kid really do if his uncle and aunt let him go and join the Rebellion?

Summary
“No weapons.” Winta held out the Barbie’s arm and Grogu moved the laser sword from the Prince to the smaller plastic hand. She kept the Barbie eyeing at the Prince suspiciously as she led him in front of the King's throne.
“Guards, leave us”, Winta made the Bounty Hunter King say in his sternest voice.
Immediately, Grogu and Winta moved all the other toys into imaginary other rooms, so that the Prince and the King were left alone.
“Errr, I’m sorry about what happened last time…” Grogu started, shifting the Prince’s weight nervously from one bare foot to the other. “Can we have peace now?”
Winta lifted the King to stand and made him slowly and gracefully walk around the Prince, saying: “Your people have killed ours already centuries ago. How can I expect my people to forgive?”

Summary
“A bad soldier, a bad soldier, a bad soldier, a bad soldier…”
Cody kept repeating the same words, and Obi-Wan could not help but sense a sting of self-consciousness, too. Certainly, sleeping with a clone had made him feel somewhat like a morally questionable Jedi. But he also realised that no feeling of inadequacy that he had experienced in his life could ever come even close to a clone’s feeling of being a bad soldier.
Obi-Wan had been taught about concepts like non-attachment and appropriate boundaries between co-workers during his training, but breaking those made him only feel lightly embarrassed while still being thrilled because oh Force had it been worth it! There was no programming in his very DNA to make him feel like his life was ruined if he failed to fulfil every letter of his purpose in one exact way.
His train of thought stopped when he realised that Cody had changed his mantra:
“I should be killed, I should be killed, I should be killed…”

“Can’t you change us back?” Din asked in rising panic.
“Uh, right... No. I can’t feel the Force.”
Din rubbed his forehead with his only flesh hand that had just one callus - in the crook between the index finger and thumb, which must be where the lightsaber hilt brushed every time the Jedi swang it.
“Is this the Force?” Din closed his eyes and gestured at the space around him, still full of invisible movement and inaudible sound that was even more obvious now that his sight was deprived.
“That's It.”
“Dank farrik... How could you live with this headache for – how many years?”

“But Din… They…” She searches for his hand with hers and he helps her find it and squeeze it. “They didn’t let me do the rites, to let the souls go free. Din, our vode’s spirits are still there, in the beskar they stole.”
“I’ll get them all back”, he promises. “They’ll get a warrior’s funeral.”
Her body relaxes a little in his arms, and he makes a move to lift her up and carry her out. But she tucks his hands aside and reaches up for her helmet instead, and Din instantly knows why.
“No, no! I’ll get you out of here.” He gropes for her wrists to stop her, but she shakes her head.
“Too late. I’m going somewhere else now.” She takes a strained breath. “I’m just glad I could hold on - until you found me.”

Summary
Luke lets him choose a frog-shaped balloon, fills it with helium and attaches a string from one end to the balloon and from the other end to the zipper on the boy’s hoodie. Once he seems adequately entertained by playing with the balloon, Luke turns to the counter, picks up the microphone and presses the announcement button. He waits for the cheerful bell signal to ring all around the department store before starting to speak into the microphone:
“Attention, Grogu Djarin is waiting for his father at the information desk. I repeat, Grogu Djarin is waiting for his father at the information desk.”
