Summary
Catra remembers her own sleepless nights and violent rages—the scratches she gouged in Adora’s bedding, the shriek of claws against metal as she defaced the silly sketch they had drawn together. She remembers lying awake for hours each night, unacknowledged tears leaking from her eyes as Adora’s scent slowly faded from her life. Summary
Adora was She-ra and She-ra was a weapon; where does that leave her in a world at peace? 12 years after joining the Rebellion, 10 after she last saw Catra and 7 since the Horde revolted and destroyed themselves peace fills Etheria. The world has been healed and the people around her are building families while she simply feels lost.
Something flying over the skies of the abandoned Crimson Waste calls the Princess Alliance back into action and Adora could not be more relieved to investigate. Nothing could prepare her for what she finds there.

Summary
Adora, anxious to get a fresh start after the death of her parents and twin brother in a car accident, moves to the small town of Bright Moon. She’s far from happy about it and just wants to forget about her ongoing complications from the accident, graduate, and get out again.
Catra is just as desperate to get out of Bright Moon herself. Stuck in a house with an emotionally abusive mother and keeping a lot of secrets, Catra knows that the only way she’ll ever feel okay is if she gets the hell out. After a string of awkward encounters, both are perfectly fine with keeping a mutual avoidance policy in place.
But then the first body is found, and Catra and Adora are thrown together in grizzly circumstances where one thing is certain.
