The voice had always been around, Eddie remembers it, like a stream of consciousness that babbled incoherently to the point where Eddie just tuned it out.
But then the voice started speaking directly to him. Conversing like he was a whole person standing right in front of him. Like he could see what was happening around Eddie.
Eddie shook his head. No one was talking to him, and Eddie most certainly was not talking back.

Summary
An ultra slow burn Drarry that begins with a Fifth-Year retelling and continues through the final battle at Hogwarts.
Harry begins to distrust Dumbledore after the events of his fourth year, turning to an unlikely source for knowledge and information. The Occupation of Malfoy Manor by Voldemort leads Draco down a path that diverges significantly from the rest of his family. Harry being made a Prefect sets in motion a large rift in the Golden Trio, ultimately resulting in irreparable damage. Harry learns what real friendship is and who he can trust while making several self-discoveries along his path to rid the Wizarding World of Voldemort for good.
There are several plot points from the original source material that remain unchanged and are therefore only referenced and implied. While I don't care for the author's personal views, I enjoy her writing and will not be re-writing anything that happens as they appeared in the books. This fic is long enough as it is! There will be author notes for any chapter that includes or alludes to these scenes.
Please make note of the canonical character death tag and remember what happens in Order of the Phoenix.

Book 1- Snape tutors Harry at his home, they form a tentative bond
Book 2- 4th year, bond is tested over the triwizard tournament, Snape feels the need to protect them both by pulling away to no avail
Book 3- 5th year, Harry has extreme survivors guilt and develops an eating disorder, Snape pulls away again due to Voldemort possession but his care for Harry is too great to stay away
Book 4- Have not started yet. Will check back in a little further in.Absolutely had me crying
