Summary
Maybe- Maybe it wasn’t that bad. Wels had cheated death a few times before, and he could probably do it again? He ducked into an alley, unrolling the parchment and scanning through it. Welsknight, 5th battalion… chosen assignment-
Oh, great. Just- freaking great! He gave this place seven years of his life, and they repaid him by sending him to his death?! It wasn’t like he wanted too much from them either, maybe a nod of acknowledgement or an occasional smile, a day off every couple months if he was being particularly demanding. Was that really too much to ask? …really, he should’ve been expecting this. Of course they’d want to get rid of him, it wasn’t like anyone actually liked him. Shoving the parchment into his pocket he marched back home, looking around at his meager possessions. Really, now that he was faced with his imminent death, he could admit his life was rather depressing. He didn’t really do much outside of work- not that he had a lot of extra time on his hands- and there was only one singular person Wels could call his friend. He looked around, beginning to pack a bag to take with him.
AKA- Wels gets sent on a quest that really should kill him. Somehow, he makes some friends along the way.

Summary
The moment X was notified that 3 of his people had gone through corrupted respawns, he began to check over his safeguards, quickly finding that things weren’t as he left them. Stuff had mutated rapidly since his last full-code check week ago, and few files he’d made were working properly. He’d assumed the problems were from an external attack when they started, something sent into his files from outside, and had been working to counter that over the last week. But this didn’t seem consistent with any sort of malware he remembered researching. It looked just like normal code degradation, except it was changing things much more rapidly.
It was probably just some phase in the code that would work itself out in a couple weeks. For now, he’d just have to do more regular maintenance and stay on top of things. Which meant spending a lot more of his time working with code instead of working on other projects or spending time with the Hermits… And it was times like this he wished he could just replace the broken files with older versions of themselves. But no, that would create problems between the world and the outdated code, and he’d just break more stuff that way…
AKA- An X overworking fic but with a high-stakes twist

Summary
Joel had come to the library to grab a book for Hermes. That was his only goal, to get a book to send to Hermes during his extended stay at Sanctuary. That goal, however, was put in the back of his mind by the scene before him. Jimmy stood across the room, staring out of the window. His hat was missing and he looked, well, honestly he looked a mess. Joel watched for a few minutes, but Jimmy didn’t move. He just stared out the window at the setting sun, hands resting on the window sill.
Eventually Joel took a step forward. Then, when Jimmy didn’t react, another. Soon he had crossed nearly the entire room, just a few steps between himself and Jimmy. The closer he got the worse Jimmy seemed. His clothes were wrinkled and torn in some places, and… was that blood? Hopefully not, there was no reason for that… right?

Summary
EX forced himself through the swirling lines of code, looking for anything he could find to take him to the other side. They flipped through the code around them, growing more frantic by the second.
This needed to work. It had to. They needed it to work, because otherwise… they couldn’t handle being stuck in the void for much longer.

Summary
All he was good for was a joke. Need some laughter to lighten a serious situation? Mumbo’s got your back. Talk about the time he ate redstone dust thinking it was food. Need something funny to start a meeting? Talk about the time he died from running headfirst into a wall. Need something silly to break the tension? Tell the group about something else he did a few weeks back, when he was sleep deprived.
Don’t think about the reason those things happened. Don’t think about how long he had stayed awake the nights before. Don’t think about the reason he was up so late. Don’t think about how he hurries away, with tears in his eyes, after someone playfully insults his work.
AKA- Mumbo gets playfully insulted by the other members of Boatem, except he doesn't think it's a joke. He hides away from his friends, who are left to deal with his absence while trying to get him back.
