Claire Redfield is chasing a ghost, and it would have been better for everyone if he had just stayed dead. The world marches on, rooted in the same universal fear of mass-scale annihilation at the hands of viral BOWs. Life persists, but it is caught in a grinding, endless winter of ever-more pain. Summary
After going on the run after the events of 1998 Billy Coen has been struggling to understand what being free was supposed to mean. Now stuck in an endless cycle of violence and assumed job paths he finds himself working under the employ of Javier Hidalgo. Unaware of what familiar horrors await him he takes up a job for the druglord; a simple request to look after his daughter Manuela.
At the same time, Steve Burnside finds himself in a lab- reawoken once again by the man who claims to have 'saved' him. Now horribly deformed and shut off from the world, Steve struggles to reconcile that perhaps he'll never be the person he once was ever again. Despite this he wishes to see the sky one more time, even if it just for a fleeting moment inbetween acting as a guinea pig or bloodbag for his captor.
