Stiles is good at his job, and he’s pretty sure knew what he was doing.
Every single person he had helped pair up so far was happy and satisfied with his choices. No one ever called him back up after a meeting and told him that the person who they were seeing wasn’t compatible for them at all, and that there wasn’t at least some form of connection. In fact, the longest he had a client looking for their match was about a week before they declared: “this is the one.”
Stiles was proud to say that he could make people fall in love in only a matter of days.
But then again, none of those people are the ever-unsatisfied, seasoned client named Derek Hale, either.

Stiles hadn't noticed the way the entire commissary had gone silent when the guy had approached his table, or the two military escorts that had been flanking him, looking at each other like maybe they should be intervening but weren't sure how. All he saw was someone stealing the last dessert from him and Stiles didn't think about it, he just reached across the table and snatched it back with a, "What the hell, dude?"

Summary
Stiles leaves his window rolled down, and through it, he can faintly hear the chirping of the cicadas in the fields beyond the parking lot. The streetlamps block out whatever stars they might have been able to see, but all in all, it’s nice. The little numbers on the dash say that it’s just past three-thirty in the morning.
In the dark, he can just see the lines of his profile. Stiles thinks, oddly, that watching Derek Hale as he eats a cheap burger in an empty parking lot might be one of the most intimate experiences of his entire life.
