"No bite." It swayed slightly, attempting to maintain its balance. Its head must be quite heavy.
Astarion grabbed it under its armpits, surprisingly heavy for a creature of it's size, and lifted it from the ornate chest, placing it gingerly on the ground.
It scampered barefoot across the grimy floor with quiet plaps. Arriving at Tav—Gods, it was only as tall as her hip—it gripped the hem of her tunic. It spun around on one heel, nearly toppling over with the inertia, to address Astarion. It removed the fingers from its mouth with a horrible wet sound and took a deep breath, or what must be deep for something so tiny.
“Go go?”

Summary
Commander Shepard has dedicated her life to the Alliance and being a soldier is everything she knows. She is prepared to sacrifice herself to save the galaxy from the Reapers, so when she has to make a call she chooses to destroy them. The strange confluence of energy displaces her to a new world and, without the Alliance to define her, Shepard will discover who she truly is while trying to recover what she lost.
[Note: if FemShep/Garrus is your OTP this story may throw you, but it would be cool if you gave it a chance anyway! Shepard and Garrus hooked up in ME2 but amicably ended things in ME3 because Shepard was afraid to ruin their friendship.]
