They broke apart, and Link removed his tunic; a couple of faded lovebites remained from a few nights ago, scattered across his collarbones. His surgery scars were barely visible in the half-light, silver on his pale chest. That didn’t stop Sheik from running his hand across them as he moved in for another kiss. He’d memorised all of Link’s body, all of his scars, but he loved these ones the most because he knew that Link did, too.
Staying at an inn somewhere outside of Hyrule, Sheik and Link try something new.

Sheik had thought that the doom brought about by his own body had been inescapable. The royal line had required someone to continue it, and he was the last one standing. Now that he was gone, what would remain? Their records burned to ash, no evidence that he’d existed beyond a few belongings. All he’d been – or hadn’t been – would be added to the legends that parents told their children.
Link refused to be sent back to his childhood after Ganondorf’s defeat. Five years later, during one of Link’s rare visits to Hyrule, Sheik realises what the identity he took on during the conflict truly meant to him. Link has an offer: leave Hyrule together.

“I think…” Link tipped his head back and gazed at the moon. “I think that Sheik is you, and Zelda isn’t. I think you understand somewhere inside you that you’re happier as him, not just because he’s freer or whatever, but because he’s a man. Because you’re a man.” His words were like being made anew. Because you’re a man. There was nothing like it, this mix of elation and fear: somebody who knew him, knew Zelda, witnessing this part of him. Saying I see what you are with none of the horror that Sheik had as it forced itself to the front of his mind.
Sheik needs to confront some things he's been trying to ignore.

Hand where his knife had been earlier, fingertips pressing into the sides of Link’s neck. Sheik wouldn’t hold tight enough to actually choke him, Link was sure – but he was still short of breath, dizzy under the other man’s sharp gaze.
“I beat you,” Link said stupidly. Sheik’s weight on his hips. Hair hanging down as he leaned over, almost close enough to brush Link’s face.
“Like I said.” He could have climbed off by now, surely, point proven. Instead, he moved closer. “Don’t drop your guard.”On his way to the Spirit Temple, Link thought he was alone.

Despite her best attempts, Zelda wasn’t strong enough to ignore the bulge tenting up between Link’s legs.
