Summary
Joel spent most of his life alone. Hybrids were hunted, seen as inhuman. Trusting others was a risk, and he had seen enough to know better. So he spent his time scavenging and “borrowing” from hunters as he traveled from place to place, never truly finding a safe place to settle.
That was until he was caught. Being taken by hunters changed everything. He comes back to a life full of pain, cages, and cruelty. That was until he met Etho.
Etho wasn’t scared when he was captured again. He had grown up in the system, he knew what he was getting into when the hunters pinned him down and took him to a cage. He knew his friends, who referred to themselves as the Hermits, a group of hybrids hiding safely away from hunters, would come save him.
So when he meets Joel, he promises him that he’d get him out. Joel struggles to trust him, but as the two survive captivity together, Joel realizes that maybe he could learn to trust again. Maybe a friend was something he actually did need in life.

Summary
Every part of Etho seemed too feminine in this moment. His hips were noticeable even with the baggy shirt he wore, his chest was poking out too much for comfort, his hair was way too feminine. Every part of him felt just wrong. With a sigh, Etho would turn away, knowing the more he stared and the more he would hate himself.
He still isn't out to anyone, and still hasn't tried to look masculine, and doesn't even attempt to socially transition with close friends. As much as Etho yearned to do so, he knew it was safer to not. He had no idea how his friends and family would react. No matter what happened, he knew he couldn't come out yet. No matter how safe he was, he didn't feel like he'd be okay if he did. He took a deep breath. He would be okay, even if he was pretending.Or:

Summary
Frankie really did not want to be living a lie. He didn’t want to worry about touching water, worry about what his friends would think if they learned the truth. He’s had close calls before, but somehow they still didn’t know he was a robot.
How could he even bring it up, at this rate? Would the others understand? He’s sure Vector and Marina would be understanding.. But..
At some point Frankie would have to tell them. Frankie knew this. But everyday he got further in his lie, and everyday the guilt would only pile up more. Frankie really needed to tell his friends the truth, but he knew he’d lose their trust.

Summary
Joel woke up feeling miserable. He felt exhausted, despite his body deciding now would be the best time to wake. He’d attempt to retrieve medicine from the kitchen, only to find himself unable to do so.
With a sigh, Joel reluctantly opened his contacts, clicking on the first one to show up: Etho. His comm would ring for a few minutes, before the ringing would end.
