Summary
Kakashi only wanted a quiet place to nap between missions. Instead, he accidentally gets adopted by the Academy staff, dragged into teacher gossip, and fed by Iruka with alarming regularity.
Somewhere between rooftop tea and late-night visits, Iruka realizes Kakashi has become part of his everyday life so naturally that the thought of losing him feels wrong.

Summary
The forest is a dark and ancient beast, it has a life of its own—its own breath. In the thickest parts, no light can reach the forest floor. Moonlight is visible only the closer you get to the river, and the only color one can par se are the bright bursts of crimson red the spider lilies emit in their thick clusters along the banks of the river. And sitting among them is what appears to be a man with his feet ankle-deep in the water steadily streaming by.
Except, it is not a stranger sitting there with his back to him. The nape of his neck is one Kakashi knows well, his thick dark hair tied up in a neat and tidy fashion. Iruka.

Summary
Kakashi is fully aware that Iruka is perfect...ly capable of diplomatic missions, errand runs, and mentoring Tenten in Fuuinjutsu. So why is he escorting them to the Land of Tea? Whatever the real reasons behind the assignment, this little summer trip is giving Kakashi too many opportunities to make a fool of himself.
Or: the one where everyone has different flavors of trust issues, and everything makes them worse (until it doesn't)

Summary
Kakashi looks at him expectantly and it’s only then that Iruka realizes he actually has to do something since Kakashi agreed to let him try this. He goes slowly, hoping that his deliberate movements come across as confidence and not what they actually are.
It's probably best for Kakashi to stay where he is on the couch, so Iruka goes around the back of it to stand behind him. Iruka starts to move his hands where he needs to. Hesitates. Tries again. Gets a little closer. Still can't.
“Can I … I need to, uhm — is it alright if I touch you?”
or, what started as iruka offering to try relieving the stress of the sharingan for kakashi leads to the two of them spending unprecedented amounts of time together. and now ...
well, iruka isn't quite sure what they are now.

Summary
"Umino Iruka," she replied. "Ajari. Twenty-seven years old. His parents died in the Kyuubi attack while protecting the Temple's perimeter. He was taken from Konoha as a child to preserve his spiritual lineage. He was trained at the Main Temple, in the highest mountains. He is the youngest Ajari in decades... and he is the one who has raised Naruto all this time."
Kakashi absorbed the data with lightning speed. A stranger. An elite mystic who carried the burden of raising his teacher's son, the child Obito had left orphaned. The circle closed in a twisted way.
"And he's coming here?"
"They're already on their way. He and Naruto. The Council of Monks decided to send him to reinforce the village's seals and because the Main Temple is no longer a safe haven. The Akatsuki have caught his scent."
Tsunade stood up with a heaviness uncharacteristic of her. She circled the desk and leaned on the edge, crossing her arms over her chest. Her eyes allowed no reply.
"Your mission, Hatake, is to protect him. At all costs."
