Summary
Phoenix fought so hard for Miles Edgeworth. He tore himself apart to try and fix the things that were holding him back. But after Edgeworth left for Europe only a week after Phoenix lost his badge, he was vulnerable, desperate, and would take any love he was given.
At least, that's the story that Phoenix tells himself sometimes. To justify waking up next to Kristoph Gavin.

When April is assigned to write a poem on the topic of first words for her AP English class, she hits a wall. She decides to ask her four new friends what their first words were and finds out they coincidentally all have very fitting ones for who they are today.
However, Splinter acts a little weird when telling them the story of Leo's first word... as in he doesn't tell that story at all. Then again, April usually reads too much into things.

Joseph looks down at his watch to check the time and if he needs to make a very special appearance tonight, but suddenly, there’s some shouting in the distance and Joseph looks back up only to see a pair of shoes careening toward him as someone dives into the car through the still-open passenger window, shouting, “Drive, idiot!"
Joseph, fortunately quick on his feet, does as he's told. Peeling out of his parking spot, he speeds down the road as Caesar adjusts his position to actually sit in the passenger seat and begins to load his pistol. “Hey, I was just going to check on you! How did it go?”
Caesar glares at him as he forces the cartridge in. “It was going great before you commed me, asshole.”
“Oh,” Joseph mutters, taking a sharp right toward the industrial district, “is that why you hung up?”
