Summary
The pair sat silently in silence for a few moments, tension hanging in the air like a noose. Gavin waited for some form of recognition to spark in Connor’s eyes, but instead he kept staring somewhere off before him, not responding to the gentle hand placed on his thigh that urged him to turn and look. “You know where you are?” Gavin finally broke the silence, baiting further for some sort of response.
“It’s cold.” Connor responded monotonously.
“Yeah, it is pretty fucking cold isn’t it?”
Connor glanced at Gavin, something unreadable on his expression. His brow wrinkled, “The snow... you can’t even see the garden.” -

Summary
Taking a single step had him tripping over his feet, balance wavering dangerously as he grabbed blindly for the wall. Before he could completely collapse Connor grabbed his arm to help steady him, hand accidentally grasping around the inflamed and tender cuts hidden beneath his sleeve and forcing an involuntary gasp from the detective as he quickly pulled away, crashing into the wall as he cradled his arm close, “Fucking hell plastic, what’d I say!”
Connor didn’t respond to his aggression, instead his eyes immediately fell to the retracted arm and the patch of blood that had seeped to the surface, “Detective, are you injured?”
Gavin cursed under his breath, with a heavy sigh. Of course he wasn’t going to be able to hide shit from the plastic prick. -

Summary
Connor hesitated, turning to face Gavin and shifting in his seat anxiously, “I usually don’t get rented out more than once and never for so many different reasons.”
Gavin knew exactly what he was asking and he didn’t dare open his mouth. He couldn’t turn to look at Connor either, just gripped tighter on the steering wheel and fixed his eyes on the traffic light casting red over the dashboard.
“It’s just that,” Connor continued, “I was just wondering if there is a reason for that.”

Hank sighed heavily and rubbed one hand over his face. The combination of Connor’s stubbornness and his own mounting concern was starting to grate on his nerves and trying to coax it out of him clearly not working, “Come on kid, you’re obviously not feeling well, you’re making this difficult for the both of us.”
“I don’t feel anything.” he replied bluntly. -

He tried to ignore the way Connor's breathing was shallow and quick, the way he clutched at the front of his jacket with trembling hands, or the way he flinched every time sounds that were near unheard to Gavin came from outside the cramp storage closet.
“What are your stress levels at?” Gavin asked after a while, watching Connor carefully as the other tried to unsuccessfully calm himself.
“Ninety-seven point four percent.” -

Summary
It wasn’t as though he didn’t feel hungry, just not hungry enough it would outweigh everything else. He could eat later anyway, when his stomach wasn’t churning with anxiety and there was something cleaner, safer, to eat. Because ultimately, nothing in his mind could outweigh the risk of being sick He knew his concerns were reasonably illogical, least, the degree he was feeling them was irrational, but that didn’t curb their intensity.

Summary
His mind felt brutal. Brutal and desperate. He supposed his current investigation didn’t help such a fact. To think of the scars upon the victim, that sliced upon each limb so deeply and so gratuitously, seemed to tease at his mind. It made him itch, an itch beneath his skin. A sensation that begged for relief, that saturated his thoughts in a blue.

Connor knows he shouldn't be using this as a way to cope.

Summary
Maybe he’d missed it before, but now that he paid attention to it he wondered how he hadn’t made the connection earlier, and he couldn't help but feel slightly smug at the revelation now that he saw it, “So, how exactly does a piece of plastic catch a cold?”
Connor sniffled and sighed, almost in resignation, “I don’t have one now if that’s what you’re insinuating.”
“You said it, not me.”Apparently those plastic pricks can get sick now. Gavin can't help but be at least a bit sympathetic.

Summary
“You give some shit defence plastic. Seriously, how long have you been working for? When was the last time you even took a fucking break and like slept, or whatever the fuck the android equivalent is?”
“I don’t see how that’s relevant to you, detective.” Suddenly Connor’s tone was firm and resolute. The fuck was he supposed to do now? Just tell the android that for some reason that even he didn't even know, he cared. That he was worried about him. That, despite being an asshole, the only reason that he had come in so fucking early was because he was thinking about him.
He was going to hate himself for saying this. “You alright?”
