“Really? A marriage pact? I think I’m too drunk for that.”
Felix was definitely drunk. Chris was right. Too drunk for them to be agreeing to a marriage pact. Still, Felix grabbed a napkin and a pen and wrote it out in sloppy handwriting.
Felix still has that napkin, now. It’s tucked away in one of his comic books. They have mentioned it jokingly a few times after making the pact, but then Chris started dating and there hasn’t been much of a reason to bring it up.

Summary

Seungmin speaks up this time. “It’s already hard for Minho,” he acknowledges. “Satisfying five vampires, plus a baby.”
“It’s true,” Chan muses, tipping Minho’s chin up to examine him. He’s probably a little peaky, and he’s sure his undereye bags are prominent. He’s adapted to sleeping during the day, though probably not as much as he needs. He’s hungry a lot, despite the bounty of food—Seungmin says that having blood drained takes a lot of a human’s energy, so he’s probably quite a bit thinner than he ought to be.
“We could… get another human?” Hyunjin spitballs, though he says it uncertainly.
“Just—where do we find a human?”
Minho blinks, pensive but also going foggy from Chan’s affections. “Put out an ad?” he suggests.

Summary
Felix has spent his entire life in the forest, away from the villages, away from people, sheltered beneath the gentle shade of the trees.
The disappearance of his uncle changed everything, though. Despite the fear thrumming in his veins, he sets out to seek his uncle; out and away from the forest’s protective embrace.
Perhaps he will reunite with his uncle, safe and unharmed, and they will both return home, together.
Or perhaps, as the fates would have it, he will encounter the individuals he was never meant to meet: his soulmates.
or: Felix tries to find his missing uncle, all the while avoiding the soulmates the fates have destined for him. He fails miserably on both fronts.

"A griffin for my strongest soldier." The Dragon King pulls Felix's unblemished face forward by the jaw, meaty fingers pushing into his cheeks with little remorse, sure to leave marks. "He may look thin but his swordsmanship is like no other."
The Stray Leader's expression is unreadable from across the low table. He appears to be mulling over the idea in his head, eyes continuously flicking between the King's fingers and his own hands resting in his lap. Felix waits, pliant under the Warlord's grip.
"Fine." As if resigning himself to his fate, Christopher nods slowly, "I'll agree to those terms."
The King looks satisfied, irritatingly so. He casts Felix's face out of his grip without another thought, beckoning the Cle member forward with his other hand. "It's settled then. May this exchange be bound in blood."
Yellow Wood once held the mysterious power to shield the Stray Lands from evil, but now with its power dwindled to practically nothing, the only way for them to protect their livelihood is to make a deal with that same evil, the Dragon Tribes. Felix, the Tribe's strongest soldier, is given in exchange for a griffin, a creature sacred to the Stray Lands.
