Summary
Lance let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding before grinning. “Did you get it?” he asked excitedly.
“I got Romelle to go down to the newsagents as soon as it opened this morning.”
Coran handed over a newspaper.
Lance took it off him, pausing for a second before he opened it. This was it. He had poured everything he had into this short story and getting it in the papers was crucial if he wanted to become known. When he handed it in to the editor, the man had said it looked very promising and it would most likely be published in this week’s edition.
Lance opened the paper to the page where the literature was published. He looked at the title and frowned.
‘The Blade’
That wasn’t his work. He scanned through the piece, hoping that they had somehow got the title wrong. Nope. Definitely not his. When he finally reached the author’s name, Lance felt his blood boil.
‘K. Kogane’
Lance glared at the name as if it had personally offended him. Which, to be honest, it had.

Luckily, without Dudley in his school tormenting everyone, he could make some friends, which led to his first-ever job at his best friend's brothers' sweet shop. Everything was going just as planned until the Smelting vs. Stonewall football game, and he slowly got closer to this blond prat Dudley was hanging out with. Things just got interesting and a little more complicated after that.
