Summary
Lo’ak’s aware the words came out quick and half thought out but he still immediately tenses in that familiar defence stature his dad drilled into him so many times, “ y’know chief’s boy I don’t think we really are past this after all by the looks of it,” he steps forward and cranes his neck up slightly with furrowed brows, Aonung immediately backs up, hands in the air and still smiling cockily. “No man don’t take it the wrong way, mkay? Cmon I’m trying to be nice here.”
Lo’ak almost scoffs, Aonung? Trying to be nice? If that’s true he should go check if Spider grew a tail and turned blue while we’re at it. Aonung noticed the uncertainty and his smile dropped by just a centimetre and looks to the side seemingly trying to summon the audacity, "c'mon forest boy, just chill out a bit, I swear it won’t be too bad to get out a bit, hm?”
That got to Lo’ak and he hated Aonung for that. For a small moment, he hated the way his heart did a small flip at that brief shyness that came and went quickly from Aonung. The nerve. Whatever. “Fine then, go on with what’d you have in mind, and don't you dare say something about going beyond the reef again.”

“To keep flying,” Lo’ak said softly. “To not pretend the sky stops existing just because I live near water now.”
Aonung frowned. “And you think we would ask that of you?”
