Sylvain froze in the act of setting his champagne flute on the table. It really did feel as if he had gone cold, ice pricked down his spine, and then he suddenly felt hot.

Felix’s expression hadn’t changed. He looked coolly aloof, if slightly irritated, but that was just his face these days. Felix made a small impatient sound, presumably at having to repeat himself, “I’ve been told I need to consider marriage. Sooner rather than later.”

Sylvain found her in a used shipyard over five years ago: battered by asteroids, her main engine a constellation of outdated parts, rats and birds nesting in her cargo bay. Maybe it was messed up for Sylvain to look at a spacecraft and see a metaphor, but there you go.

They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

Felix wakes up with a jolt in an empty bed. He looks around, combing fingers through his hair trying to pull out knots. It's a familiar room, one that he wishes he wasn't so familiar with so he doesn't have to taste the bile of guilt in the back of his throat.
He wants to be friends. Just friends, he thinks but he hasn't decided yet. Not sure if he could ever decide. He likes Sylvain, likes the small touches they share but sometimes he can't tell.
__Felix and Sylvain have a friend with benefits relationship and Felix doesn't know how to deal with it.
