"er, think you can stop gawkin' at me?" The skeleton asked, his voice low. And kind of breathy. Weird, did this skeleton monster even need to breathe? Was that racist or specist or whatever the correct term was?
"Think you can explain why you popped up into my closet?" You countered dryly. Then paused before adding, "And why you're still sitting in my lap?"
OR a loner who sleeps in closets during breaks suddenly gets a surprise visitor who appears to be a skeleton monster.

Once, Kakashi had borne a different eye in each socket, indicating that he had yet to meet his soulmate. Then, his soulmate eye was damaged beyond repair in the fight that cost him one of his best friends. It was a gift, his sharingan. But it was also a curse.
Iruka stared deeply into his reflection. Before, he’d had two very dark eyes, one of which shone a deep, dark brown in direct lighting, while the other had a soft charcoal gray to it. Now, both of them had the deep brown undertone, and the gray was gone. At some point today, he’d met his soulmate.
And they hadn’t noticed.
OR
Sometimes you have to trust your gut, because the soulmate AU isn't doing you any favors.

In the aftermath of the time travel incident, Perceptor made a resolution to get to know his lab partner better. He didn’t anticipate that he’d grow so fond of Brainstorm in the process. Blindsided by a rare and deadly illness, he realizes that he’s miscalculated the depths of his regard.
Perceptor is determined to study and cure the disease with Brainstorm none the wiser. Unfortunately, feelings have never been his area of expertise.
