Summary
Jane Shepard got out of the Alliance military after losing her platoon on Akuze, and joined the diplomatic corps. She secured the release of hundreds of hostages as an ambassador to the Batarian Hegemony after the Skyllian Blitz, and took part in risky in-person negotiations before, during and after Torfan.
She dedicated herself to ending wars. But when the establishment of a Batarian consulate on the contested colony of Eden Prime is interrupted by a Geth invasion, she finds herself at the centre of a war for all organic life - one which seems to end with annihilation, even in victory.
Which is unfortunate, but she is nothing if not adaptable.
I'm just going to keep adding tags as and when the story gets to them. The Femshep/Ashley relationship is going to be platonic and snarky, but it might turn into romance if I think they vibe. Either way, Ash is bi but doesn't know it. Batarians are assholes, but I'll try to give them more depth than they get in the games.

Summary
The 15th Dror Mechanised Rifle Regiment leaves its first battle blooded and ready for more, but is rerouted to make contact with a world forgotten even by the Emperor. Shaken by betrayals from within, and thrown into a diplomatic maelstrom of sweetened words and poisoned drinks, Colonel Marie Adidevic is forced to rely on her implacable, inscrutable Commissar and a flittering Ordos Famulous graduate. Meanwhile, the soldiers of the regiment struggle just to stay alive, under siege and without supplies.
An Imperial Guard colonel catches feelings for her political officer, while they're trapped on a hostile planet. Slow burn, possibly getting into pining territory, potential love triangle that I'll potentially resist the urge to turn into a throuple. Hopefully plenty of fighting.
A 40K fic with some characters I've wanted to write for a while! I hope that people enjoy it, and that folks take the time to leave a comment. Any suggestions for fluffy chapters extremely welcome.

I'm hoping to avoid getting bogged down in retelling the minutiae of the game's story, since everyone knows it - if I cover a major plot point it will be because it's character-relevant, or because I had a fun idea for it.

Every Alliance Naval Academy cadet has to apply for summer postings between academic years. The short tours give cadets valuable experience and the chance to see what the Alliance does around the galaxy. Cadet Jane Shepard thought the turian officer training exchange program sounded like a good opportunity for something different, but she had no idea what she was signing up for.

Just really well edited and put together! Goes into Shepard's character in a very interesting way. Plus, the tags are accurate - I have no idea how to make text look like it looks in this fic, and it adds a lot to the presentation.
