It is not Shen Qingqiu’s fault that one of Binghe’s subjects, in an apparent effort to curry favor with the Demonic Emperor– presumably to acquire an exclusive trade agreement for the admittedly very high quality Three Horned Plums Of Plenty he peddles– had gifted a very particular plant with the collection of rare treasures that he had procured.
It is also not his fault that that very particular plant happens to be the Blossoming Lotus Of Everlasting Joy, a terribly named plant that blooms precisely once every nine months, and that, when ground into a paste with water acquired from a very specific cave in a very specific mountainous region nearly as far south as one can get in the demon realm, can guarantee a couple can successfully… procreate.
Regardless of their respective… equipment.
Or: Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe venture into the world of planned pregnancy.

Aaaaahdhdjdj!! I have so many thoughts I hope I don’t forget them! I just really really love this! The way sqq progressively keeps upping (more like admitting) how much he truly loves his husband, the way he’s somehow still a good ally to sqh even while being a bit of a silly guy, the winter themed name. They’re all so lovely.I particularly loved the relationship between nyy and lbh. The little joking exchange was so sweet and so heartwarming I could cry.
Sqqs narration was 1. really funny 2. really in character.
The identity reveal and the whole conversation around it was just really realistic. Like lbh is a smart boy of course he can figure it out. And he really knows his husband and can read him so well.
This line in particular killed me:
> "If Shizun doesn't like a sex thing, he complains about it in a very particular way that is different than the way he complains when he does like a sex thing but won't admit it and we do not do it again. If Shizun does not like emotional vulnerability, he jumps out of windows.“Oh and one last thing. The little acts of love between them were so domestic and sweet. Especially sqq leaning up to kiss lbh and lbh understanding immediately and leaning down. It really captures their relationship; sqq indicating a want and lbh understanding and going that extra step.
