Chihiro doesn’t get tagged. Chihiro only blinks at him blankly when Hakuri asks for his arm so he can register him. His tag is bound to have already been burned off in the aftermath of the fight with his father. Energy is energy, but the existence of another’s person’s energy inside of you—no matter how small it is—feels weird when you can pinpoint it. The tag doesn’t mesh with the person’s spirit energy. Instead, it lays on top, like a bandaid. An itch to never be scratched until you burn it off.
And yet—
“Still have mine.” Chihiro says bluntly.
“Huh.” Hakuri spills it out before he can reign himself in, confusion evident in his face.
“Look closer.” Chihiro’s tone edges somewhere towards amusement and exasperation. Hakuri looks closer and—

Daniil noted the slight tremor in Artemy’s voice. Artemy Burakh also lost many things in the chaos. He must also suffer from the nightmares. He must.
“They wanted me to die in the plague along with Aglaya and Block and yet, the more information they received from us, the more they urged us to cure the incurable. To preserve the town. Do you hear me? They will not leave a town of miracles alone. It may not be right away… but they will send someone.”

There's no choice but to build a new life and live with the consequences, and so they do. But the events of the plague left deep wounds with the pain and fear of loss ever looming.

He doesn’t really know when it became such a regular occurrence. One night he’s tired, restless, and unable to sleep, barely nodding to a suggestion Rudy has to help him relax, and then next thing he knows his Sargent Major is knelt between his legs, giving him head beneath his desk.
He passes out embarrassingly quickly, waking up in his bed fresh and alert.
The second time he’s more cognizant, extremely tired, but aware, and when Rudy offers again, he can’t fully blame it on his exhaustion, despite collapsing into heavy sleep once more afterwards.
The third time, he gets into the habit of taking a shower before going to his office, shivering at the soft chuckle his friend gives him when he smells body wash on him.
The fourth and fifth get mixed up in his memory, and by this point he’s lost count. Every time, he’ll wake up embarrassed in his bed - knowing that he was definitely not getting to his room by himself, cleaned up and changed in comfortable clothes.
He feels very taken care of, and doesn’t know how to return the favor without making it weird.

Summary
The infamous Simon "Ghost" Riley was put on a mission with the rest of the Task Force 141 that he's grown close to, the mission was an infiltration mission of some base. Some nasty shit went down there, such as human experiments and such. While the team split up to cover more ground, Simon found himself in a nasty situation.
Finding a child, a wounded and bruised child in a cell. It struck cords with his heart, one he thought had been long gone. A new mission arose, to make sure that child was granted a beautiful life to make up for the shit he endured.
OR
Simon Riley becomes a father figure to said child, but is struggling to figure out how to be the best he can WITH dealing with his own concerns from his past.
As well as, a very well slow burn with John "Soap" Mactavish and Simon "Ghost" Riley.
